Ulu Posted April 10, 2022 Report Posted April 10, 2022 (edited) My father owned a Plymouth Valiant, purchased brand new when they first came out. But it was too small and he sold it for a Plymouth wagon when my sister was born. Later Dad bought some small wheels and tires to put on his little trailer, but he never did it. At the time I remember him saying that they came from a Plymouth Valiant. They’re probably 13”. One of them might have even been a spare from his car. The only other thing I can remember is that the tires did not match, and they were five lug rims. They are stuffed under something, behind a car in my garage, and I will have to drag them out and dust them off after I move it. Anyhow, if there are any Valiant owners here, I will put up some photographs and see if we can ID Dad’s old wheels. Edited April 10, 2022 by Ulu Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 10, 2022 Report Posted April 10, 2022 these should be 5 x 4" pattern, and yes 13" rims.....just sold mine a month or so back.... Quote
Sniper Posted April 11, 2022 Report Posted April 11, 2022 I have a 65 Barracuda, based on the Valiant. It has/had 13" bolt rims. The part number is usually stamped on the rim somewhere, might be on the inside though. That will tell you exactly what you have. That said, I replaced mine with 15" rims when a swapped in later A body discs, 4.5" bolt pattern too. Quote
Ulu Posted April 11, 2022 Author Report Posted April 11, 2022 (edited) It turns out that those were my old rims and tires for the boat trailer, and the ones from Dad are locked up in an old trailer out back. In fact, that trailer has the same 5 bolt pattern, but it has smaller wheels. My dad was going to put these rims on the trailer but they never fit at the center hole. I have to move a few things to get to the trailer. There’s a bunch of steel piled in front of it right now. Edited April 11, 2022 by Ulu Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 11, 2022 Report Posted April 11, 2022 most trailer has 5 x 4.5 and if your dad had these on a valiant stock when they first come out...well, unheard of first years...even much later with the V8 going in a 5 x 4.5 A body rear axles pre-'73 are hard to come by.... Quote
Boody Posted April 11, 2022 Report Posted April 11, 2022 My first car was a 65 Plymouth Valiant 2 door I paid $100 for it! Quote

He kept the wheels and hubcaps and then lost them in a fire. Quote
Sniper Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 Well if you are really jonesing for a set of original 13 inch barracuda rims and hubcaps I think I still have mine Quote
