TodFitch Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Well, I only scored 92% on this test: http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/quizzes/MechanicalAptitude.php Unfortunately I don't see a way to tell which questions I got wrong. . . Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 That was pretty cool. I got a 98%. Missed one question. You can review the quiz when you're done. Click on the magnifying glass looking icon at the top. Once I saw my mistake I instantly realized my mistake. I knew better, I just didn't think it through. Merle Quote
Normspeed Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Whew! I only got an 84. But I disagree with one of the electrical answers. Quote
Guest 57plymouth Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 I got an 82, but I'm an idiot. Quote
blueskies Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 86 for me. Missed a couple of the pulley questions, and a couple of electrical questions. I thought intake air was due to vacuum from the piston going down, drawing air into the cylinder, or suction. No? Pete Quote
Normspeed Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 I think suction is just lower atmospheric pressure, and the higher outside pressure pushes the air in. Quote
Alexander Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 wow I got a perfect score. I guess I better since I am an engineer by trade. fun test... I should let my wife take it :-) Quote
48Dodger Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I scored 100, but I kept track of how many I guessed on. in other words if they hadn't given me a choice, I wouldn't have come up with the answer. There was quite a few. I agree there was some questions that were, well questionable, but they always say pick "the best answer". 48D Quote
busycoupe Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I got a 94, which means I must have missed 3 questions, yet the quiz only told me I answered incorrectly once. What happened to the other 2 wrong answers? Also, there is an inaccuracy in the test. It repeatedly refers to weight in kilograms. This is wrong. Kilograms measure mass. In the metric system, the unit of weight is the Newton. - I know, you are going to say that your bathroom scales measure in kg, but technically this is incorrect. Quote

I didn't go to the site or take the test. However, our bathroom scale doesn't give us the weight in kg. It registers the pounds. Since it's never right anyway, it's stashed away in the storage room in the basement. It's not a digital scale, it's analog because we like the high tech analog dial. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 94. I got worm geared once and pulleyed twice. Quote
PatS.... Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I'm the village idiot, only 76% and a FAIL!!! I hate gears anyway Quote
Heavy Flat Head Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Thank heavens I have a simple mind. I received a 86. I still think that when the piston goes down creating a low pressure zone that is how the air is drawn in. I only had one answer come up wrong so I do not understand my score. I do get it that I do not know everything, but I do know almost everything. Ed. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I got 82. Guess I don't understand how pulleys work or how to read an electrical schematic. This is scary cause I collect old wooden pulleys and have wired about 50 new homes. Quote
