Just in case anyone is interested, the Montana Mopar boy's are thinking about another run of Edgy heads. You can check it out on their site, but if you are interested please contact them so that enough people do, and they make them.

Did I just read that these heads are 2000.00 usd?   Man for 50 bucks you can mill a late head and have very nearly the same compression ratio.  Yeah, I know, no eye candy, but that candy is money that could be spent to upgrade brakes, rebuild the front steering or suspension or grab and rebuild an overdrive.

They are around $1400. And compression ratio is only a small part. I'm not here to sell anything, I'd only be a customer, but an aluminum head has a lot of advantages.

I thought Edgy heads were made in Santa Rosa (where Earl lives).

Did the "Montana Boys" purchase the rights to make them?

And how does one exploit these advantages?  The Edmunds head I have would bleed coolant from between the cooling fins, and the temp sender had to be filled in and re drilled and tapped because some hamb handed mechanic cross threaded it. And it saved about 12 pounds of sprung weight d

from the front end,, but it did look nice...

Guess I need to ask. Was the HP or torque gains measurable? Did you have any head gasket sealing or timing issues with the increased CR? I only ask because of past experiences with aluminum heads using low octane gasoline. It’s something I could be interested in for the future.

The Montana Mopar boys became the sole distributor awhile ago. They have made some improvements to the heads also. The story is best read on their site, rather than relayed by me.

All you questions are a website away. Considering their past records, I do think they know a thing or two, however not everyone wants to get more than stock performance. I get that and see nothing wrong with that approach.
