1940 dodge truck hood ornament

I’m on the hunt for a 1940 dodge truck hood ornament for my survivor 1/2 ton I just picked up.

if anyone out there has got one, or knows where one is I’d appreciate the lead!

   39 was one year only, the number is596175. 1940, the number is 1158552, there is a couple on eBay. 41-47, the number is 913968. I bought one for $85 delivered, that was better than the one I had. Use the part number in your search for better results.

I believe the top of the 1940 trim is similar enough to the 41-47 that the ornament will fit even though it looks completely different.

I’m still on the hunt for a 1940 hood ornament for my truck. I wanted to revive this thread and ask if you guys can confirm that the 41-47 style will fit on a 1940? They seem fairly commo so if they will fit I might put one on until

i can find a 40.

That might be a better question for the 39-47 truck specific group(formally yahoo group). I believe it will fit but I've only owned 41-47 stuff.
