MackTheFinger Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 Yeah, I know and I get it. It still struck me as sad. Apparently her father had just died and she was really grieving his loss. https://variety.com/2021/film/news/tawny-kitaen-dead-whitesnake-video-bachelor-party-1234969193/ Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 not since 1972........what passes for C&W today would not make a good pimple on JC's butt..... 1 Quote
MackTheFinger Posted May 12, 2021 Author Report Posted May 12, 2021 I gotta agree with that.. I still have friend's playing traditional C&W and bluegrass. If I can find any of their stuff online I'll pass it along. Quote
48Dodger Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 That's sad......she'll always be part of my 80's experience....."The chick from the White Snake video".....no one could ride a hood quite like she did. 48D 1 Quote
keithb7 Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys. When I think of C&W. I think of 30’s/40’s swing country. Exactly what would have been playing on the AM radio of our old mopars. Quote

Worden18 Posted May 20, 2021 Report Posted May 20, 2021 I remember her well from the RATT and Whitesnake days. Had a crush on her when I was 17. Pretty sad to die so young. 2 Quote
MackTheFinger Posted May 22, 2021 Author Report Posted May 22, 2021 These are all personal opinions so please take them as such. When I think of C&W I think of the Rolling Stones. I read an interview with Mick Jagger where he said something to the effect, "I love country music but I can't take it seriously. When we do a country song it's always tongue-in-cheek because country music has always been tongue-in-cheek." I sorta see what he meant. Of course things have changed and popular music now just sucks IMO. Of course it wasn't written with my generation in mind. I had my first exposure to music through my family, particularly my mother; who played guitar like Mother Maybelle and sang in the "high lonesome" style she learned almost 100 years ago now. I wish I had recorded some of our duets but such is life.. they still play in my head. Quote
