47Jim Posted September 20, 2020 Report Posted September 20, 2020 "47 WD21 all stock 6 volt positive ground, moved my battery to the drivers side engine bay, for those with this configuration, what's a good bolt to attach the ground battery cable to? getting ready to order some cables, want to do it as neat and orderly as possible. My coil is still coming out of the firewall, don't want to use a head bolt for obvious reasons if I don't have to. Please provide a picture if you have a good reply so I can see exactly where it's at. Thanks Jim Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 20, 2020 Report Posted September 20, 2020 if at all possible the short jump to the engine itself is best followed with a strap from the engine to the chassis and of course one should also tie a strap to the cab and if truck, the bed also. This combination will help to ensure you ALWAYS have a close and direct ground at hand and eliminate many feedbacks within your circuits. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 20, 2020 Report Posted September 20, 2020 Factory under hood locations are a special headbolt that is taped for a bolt or one of the generator mount bolts. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted September 20, 2020 Report Posted September 20, 2020 My engine block has a threaded bolt boss along the oil pan rail, under the starter. I used that to run a ground wire between the engine and the chassis. If your engine has that it may be a good ground location for your main battery cable. Quote
