What do you guys suggest for sealant on the timing cover bolts that go into coolant passage? Teflon tape, pipe dope, ultra grey??

I got a can of Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket to use for my head gasket.  So since I had that I used it on all my gaskets and mounting screws.  Since I was building up a newly machined short block, it had plenty of time to cure before it saw any oil or antifreeze . Regards

I used Rectorseal #5 pipe dope on mine. The stuff has been around forever and is designed for water, gas and steam use so it will hold up fine. It is a non-hardening product so removal after years of service is generally not a problem.
