Leary Posted December 15, 2017 Report Posted December 15, 2017 Hey there, I'm rewiring the front half of my D24, and i cant work out what this switch was used for. Can you guys help? Cheers, Leary Quote
Mattias78 Posted December 15, 2017 Report Posted December 15, 2017 It's for the dash light, there is a bulb just to right of the knob. The yellow "glass" under the Dodge emblem. Quote
Leary Posted December 15, 2017 Author Report Posted December 15, 2017 Hmm, on mine the knob on the other side is for the dash light. Is it just for the interior light? Its a 2 position switch. Quote
49D-24BusCpe Posted December 16, 2017 Report Posted December 16, 2017 Leary & 'Mattias, I agree with BOTH of you, let me explain. The D-24 Owner's Instruction Book identifies the left-most knob s the 'Map Light Switch', and the right one as the 'Panel Light Switch'. My D-24 Business Coupe has them reversed like Leary's car. My 'Panel Light Switch' has three positions - Off, Dim and Bright. Walt Quote
busycoupe Posted December 16, 2017 Report Posted December 16, 2017 It controls the brightness of the instrument lights. As Don Coatney likes to say, the instrument lights can be either dim or dimmer. 1 1 Quote
matthewshook Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 That's really funny, because on my 46 D-24 Deluxe, one is just a fake knob, for symmetry. On the backside of the dash, it was just a stud bolted in there with a knob on the front! Quote
