fhubler Posted November 17, 2017 Report Posted November 17, 2017 Anyone know the story of this gas pedal cover ? It slips over the stock gas pedal on our '48 Town Sedan. Looks like its been there since new. Did they come with these, or would it be a period accessory? Quote
desoto1939 Posted November 17, 2017 Report Posted November 17, 2017 this would have been a period accessory item that slipped over the gas pedal and also helped to protect the area where your heal would rest ont he rubber mat to help prevent you from getting a hole inthe mat. In your example you can see that the round section that rested on the floor covered the hole in the rubber floor mat. Rich Hartung Quote
Andydodge Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Its surprising the amount of wear that pedals get.........in the late 70's I remember seeing a late 20's Chev light truck that was still being regularly used as a truck by the original owner, the pedals were steel and had been worn over the years by his leather soled boots to have an edge on the top that was sharp enough to shave with...........the guy was known locally as "Sunset".........but even then he was well over 77 years of age.........andyd Quote

Thomba48 Posted November 19, 2017 Report Posted November 19, 2017 There are a few covers around on ebay. But all seem to cater for Chevy needs only. Quote
pflaming Posted November 19, 2017 Report Posted November 19, 2017 I prefer this one, which I have in my truck. 1 Quote
