Worden18 Posted September 27, 2020 Author Report Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) 9-26: Wife snapped this pic of me leaving Hidden Trails. She drove the van with the baby riding along. At home after a great day. The Meadowbrook ran flawlessly. 65mph on Hwy 61. We had the chance to climb some pretty decent hills and discovered the new carburetor actually allowed us to hold speed at 1/4 throttle, and gain speed at 1/2 throttle or more. Pretty sweet. Ran just under 180 degrees the whole trip. Thank you Meadowbrook for a peaceful afternoon!! Edited September 27, 2020 by Worden18 3 Quote
Worden18 Posted September 28, 2020 Author Report Posted September 28, 2020 9-26: Saturday night after all the activities my daughter and I took a drive to visit my brother and his kids. We went out for a night cruise. I let him drive, which he was more than happy to do. It was nice to ride in the passenger seat. In this picture we had stopped for snacks. That's my brother behind the wheel. Our ride lasted about an hour. After that we sat in the car till about 2am shooting the breeze! I got to bed about 3:30am ? My nephew really likes the car and wants to drive it sometime. He's 12. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted September 30, 2020 Author Report Posted September 30, 2020 9-29: Cruising around town with the kids tonight. Mid-50s for temps. Heater off, but heat from engine just enough to be comfortable. Good news! Winona 7 Theater finally opened up again. Second pic: cruising down 3rd Street. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted September 30, 2020 Author Report Posted September 30, 2020 9-29: At Kwik Trip to clean off buggies from the windshield. A stop at DQ to top off the evening. Meadowbrook ran great. I have a squeaky clutch pedal return spring I'll have to take a look at ? 2 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 2, 2020 Author Report Posted October 2, 2020 (edited) 10-1: Warming up for a trip to Fleet Farm for dog food. Took my 2 older kids and my daughter's friend, who had never seen the car before. She loved it and told me the car reminded her of an airplane because of the seatbelts. Pic 2: the Meadowbrook outclasses everything in the parking lot. Had the heater on today. Edited October 2, 2020 by Worden18 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 2, 2020 Author Report Posted October 2, 2020 10-2-20: At work 6:55am. 36 degrees; heater on full blast ? That's the moon in the background. 3 Quote
knuckleharley Posted October 2, 2020 Report Posted October 2, 2020 LOVE reading about people enjoying their cars and trucks! Quote
greg g Posted October 2, 2020 Report Posted October 2, 2020 My clutch pedal bushings are a bit worn. It scrapes and squeeks on the floor board. A bit if lithium or chainsaw bar oils quiets it right down. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 (edited) 10-2: At the bank drive-thru after work. Then later, at the Cathedral for a quick prayer. The Cathedral and the Meadowbrook were both built in '51. Edited October 3, 2020 by Worden18 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 10-2: Rogue DQ stop! No kids! Just my wife and I in the Meadowbrook for once. 2 strawberry sundaes with whipped cream ? Heater cranked; cooked us out so had to turn it off and crack a window ? 2 Quote
knuckleharley Posted October 3, 2020 Report Posted October 3, 2020 I wish I was having the fun with my Dodge truck that you are having with your car. Was supposed to have been done by Aug 31st. Now they are saying the end of this month. Went and checked on the progress again today, and the end of this month is doable if nothing goes wrong. Oct to April is a tough time period to sell something like that, though. Buyers need warm weather and sunshine to get their hearts pumping. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 10-3: Filled up with gas this morning. Then filled up the minivan. When backing up in front of our house, the van's camera was full of Meadowbrook!? 1 Quote

Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 Quick pic of my crusty dash. Jeez I should really clean that ? Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 10-3: I don't remember any water ever coming in the side windows since I've owned the car (unless you count the one time I used a pressure washer). If that door panel could talk.... Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 10-3: Snapped the pics of the dash and door panel while wife was getting coffee from Kwik Trip. We took a cruise upriver to Kellogg, MN just because. The Meadowbrook ran perfect. 55mph and lots of fall colors. This pic was from downtown Kellogg. A man and his wife in their 70s pulled alongside us and were happy to see the car. Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 Another fall pic, and a heroes memorial downtown. 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Report Posted October 3, 2020 10-3: The Meadowbrook always looks good parked by any church. On the way home the drone sounds of the engine put wifey to sleep!? We'll go out soon for more fun ? 1 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Report Posted October 5, 2020 10-4-20: Getting ready to take off for a car show in town? Perfect day, sunny and upper 50s. Donations for the show benefitted the Freedom Honor Flight for Veterans, and the spaghetti dinner benefitted the Elks Lodge foundation. Quote
Worden18 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Report Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) 10-4: I parked next to this Camaro/57 Chevy thing. Weird! A nice row of cars including a black 55 Chevy which looked an awful lot like Harrison Ford's in American Graffiti. The blue 69 Roadrunner on the end (I didn't get a better pic) the owner bought new in '69 for $3100. Edited October 5, 2020 by Worden18 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Report Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) 10-4: There was a good turnout of cars. 3+ good rows. It was nice to see everyone out having fun. A lot of people were poking their heads inside my car. One couple wanted to know the history of it. You know how that goes... I'm more than happy to talk ? Edited October 5, 2020 by Worden18 Quote
Worden18 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Report Posted October 5, 2020 10-4: My favorite car was this '83 AMC Eagle 4WD. 40k original miles. Quote
Worden18 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Report Posted October 5, 2020 10-4: Every year they have a pumpkin drop. The crane raises 2 men in a cage up 150ft. and they drop pumpkins, squash, watermelons, etc. onto the pavement. The crowd roared! It was great fun!? Big white pumpkin falling in this pic. Quote
