soth122003 Posted March 29, 2015 Report Posted March 29, 2015 Very cool video!! Watching it, I could really feel for the young men back in the day who had to ride or drive these things, due to the lack of a good suspension system. Granted the weight of the vehicle would help mash everything in it's path but over a rocky surface, for extended periods of time, must have played hell on the kidneys and back. Joe Quote
mattimuss Posted March 29, 2015 Report Posted March 29, 2015 A friend of mine is a member of the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista CA [ http://agsem.com/ ]. The museum has an open house twice a year, Spring and Summer. I have gone with him to these open houses a few times, what a day! The last time we went the carpenter's shop was finishing the restoration of an old western stage coach. The entire carpenters shop uses vintage tools, no electricity. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 For incredible torque displays, Youtube search "Great Dorset Steam Fair 2009". I think there are four parts. Iron monsters rule. Quote
White Spyder Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) My son works for an auction company that specializes in antique tractors or "Old iron" as the call 'them. Here is one starting up. No wonder those guys had to be in good shape! He gets to run and drive many of these as they prep them for auction listing. Edited March 30, 2015 by White Spyder Quote
