I loved it...raw power..every stoke of the piston would almost lift the front wheels.....got to love the steamers..did yo pay close attention the number of turns on the steering wheel...no fast turns here buddy..

Very cool video!! Watching it, I could really feel for the young men back in the day who had to ride or drive these things, due to the lack of a good suspension system. Granted the weight of the vehicle would help mash everything in it's path but over a rocky surface, for extended periods of time, must have played hell on the kidneys and back.

A friend of mine is a member of the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista CA [ http://agsem.com/ ].

 

The museum has an open house twice a year, Spring and Summer.  I have gone with him to these open houses a few times, what a day!

 

The last time we went the carpenter's shop was finishing the restoration of an old western stage coach.  The entire carpenters shop uses vintage tools, no electricity.

My son works for an auction company that specializes in antique tractors or "Old iron" as the call 'them. Here is one starting up. No wonder those guys had to be in good shape! He gets to run and drive many of these as they prep them for auction listing.
