BobT-47P15 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 I suppose this Dodge was a real stretch............. 3 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 There was one that looked a lot like this about 50 miles from here, back in the 1960s......was fairly run down and faded looking back then. Never did go up close to look or inquire about price. No idea where it had been used as there are no large airports near where it was located. 2 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) A friend who is semi=retired and still does mechanic work from his former filling station has an old Checker stretch sitting in front of his place. Not sure what he is doing to it. Guess I should take a picture and look at it. Seems to be fairly run down. It resembles this one. There are even more pictures of old stretches in this section of ebay..........http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC4.A0.H0.Xairport+limo.TRS5&_nkw=airport+limo&ghostText=&_sacat=0 Edited March 5, 2015 by BobT-47P15 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) I think some of these old limos were used by dance bands back when..........they could put their instruments on the roof rack and seat most or all of the band. I recall musicians in the 60s and 70s using retired hearses as band vehicles since they were large enough to haul the group's (or at least the one player's) equipment.
