40phil41 Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Anyone have the NAPA number for the sealed ones? My '41 has the sealed type whereas my '40 has the removeable cartridge type. Phil Quote

Really? It was my understanding that the last manufacturer of the sealed canister filters was WIX and that all the various NAPA, CarQuest, etc. versions were house branded WIX filters. And WIX stopped making them about 5 years ago. The cross references I have for the sealed canister filters are here: http://www.ply33.com/Parts/group10#10-C There are a couple on eBay at the moment (they do come up pretty often): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-PUROLATOR-OIL-FILTER-PLYMOUTH-DESOTO-36-37-38-39-40_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ80737QQihZ020QQitemZ300120429064QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-PUROLATOR-OIL-FILTER-CHRYSLER-DESOTO-41-42-46-47-48_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ80737QQihZ020QQitemZ300120429975QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I believe that Roberts has them in their catalog. I don't know if they are old stock or if they have found a current manufacturer. Quote

Reg Evans Posted June 16, 2007 Author Report Posted June 16, 2007 Thanks Tod. Man....those eBay ones are getting expensive and the bidding frenzie isn't over yet. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Those filters are probably still around but getting harder to find locally. If it were mine, I'd pick up a new/used filter housing so I could use the replaceable cartridge instead of the sealed unit. Those filters can be found just about any place and a lot less expensive.
