  1. I would like to know about those adapters.Christopher from the high and lonesome...
  2. I have a complete 50 rear end..could part out..pm if interested... Christopher from the high and lonesome.......
  3. The odds are its the same as the 2-21/2 ton truck engines or the combine engines probably updraft carb, and up draft exhaust.and no vacume advance on the dizzy. It may have some minor differences from application to application, but not many. Im driving around a industrial 251 in my 47 club cp.with approriate intake and exhaust, and different dizzy.nice smooth torque. I have another that Im planning on useing in a51 wayfarer [hog back]I may or may not pull the head. just clean up and change intake and exhaust.might even leave the non vacume advance dizzy in it.Im driving around now with the vacume blocked off the dizzy now, on the 251,, it works alright. So anyway, from what I have seen,I think the engines[except marine] weather they are car, truck, combine ,welder, or spray rigs ,are the same cam pistons crank heads etc.I have cranks rods heads blocks oil pumps really heavey flywheels up draft stuff oil cannisters, plus four or five more engines to pull apart when I get around to it.so Yah!! get the engine and check it out may be a good one...Christopher,,,, from the high and lonesome
  4. Yah. Im a little to far.from walla walla walla walla. the hamb is a good suggestion, seems to be a good number of them scattered around eastern wa....good luck.... Christopher ....from the high and lonesome..... ..
  5. Yep still making spoons and spatulas for the world..plus a lot of canes being there is a gazillion boomers with bad knees.I need to keep at it don't know how to do anything else.plus have 13 year old twin boys, that eat more every day Christopher,,, from the high and lonesome...... ...
  6. I suppose I should of had my hard hat on. greg, was out revin up the 251 that I put in Mr. mike the club cp.hope to criuse the high and lonesome this year,,,,single carb single exhaust tryin to keep it simple..should roll on pretty well with the overdrive....Christopher from the high and lonesome...
  7. Been awhile, just thought I would say Hi, been working on the 47 club[Mr.Mike], and plans for a 318/833od, in the 48 big butt cp.been busy with kids, and other hobbies. But I have been reading the forum, trying to keep up. also I am listing some big block stuff in the parts for sale ,[hope its ok to mention that GTK] feels good to turn a wrench, and make some plans for the spring/ summer drives on the high and lonesome....later Christopher.... ..
  8. thank you Mr. Bob. guees Ill stick to the old 4 blader. how are things on the dark side....Christopher..... ..
  9. changing engines, figured I would try a 6 blade fan over the 4 blade.any body out there done this, and noticed any cooler or quieter running.. Christopher from the high and lonesome..
  10. might be a 265, probably a 251.the come out the side. might have to remove the tire.lots of things to unbolt.should be mounted on a angle iron skid deal..if they didn't cap the vertical exhaust. number one will be rusted up.any more, I prefer to find them already out..but I have enough of them now. been to busy to work on anything for a year or so.thinkin about it though.. also Im refering to wheat combines..didn't catch what kind you mentioned..Christopher,, from the high and lonesome.............
  11. Thats right,, retarded the timing, noise went away. ,,also all the power.I dinked with my rattle problem for months. different dizzys, plug wires, vacume checks.its comming out [when I get the time]and Im going to shoot it.!!!!! just kidding, I believe it is the wrist pin bushing,, won't know for sure, until after the autopsy.putting in a 251.. enough of these little wussey engines...Christopher from the high and lonesome... ..
  12. Yep,, I keep my eye out for them combine engines.work on the projects is always slower then one would want, spoons canes and family keeps me pretty busy.you can make plans, but can't plan the outcome..I read the board, bout everyday, but like Todd said some smart guy answers first. spend some time over at moparts, as some projects are getting those new v8 type engines..also read the hamb, for some inspiration..Thats about it from the high and lonesome....Christopher.... .
  13. Christopher, from the high and lonesome, still around . putzin away. need a new chainsaw..[old board stuff]
  14. Pretty neat,, did you use a / 6 vacume???? or a flatty..thanks much.....Christopher....... ...
  15. thats a good thing to know. where is more info..would like to know as much as possible...I have extra 251 dizzys. from trucks, [no vacume advance] sounds like a good way to solve a problem...Thanks Christopher.. from the high and lonesome....
