Anyone here have one of the sealed type oil filter canisters available for purchase? My ole 40 Plymouth could use one.

Reg the Napa by my house has a bunch of them. I forget the number but when I was trying to get a 1080 all they had where the sealed ones.

Anyone have the NAPA number for the sealed ones? My '41 has the sealed type whereas my '40 has the removeable cartridge type.

Really? It was my understanding that the last manufacturer of the sealed canister filters was WIX and that all the various NAPA, CarQuest, etc. versions were house branded WIX filters. And WIX stopped making them about 5 years ago.

The cross references I have for the sealed canister filters are here:

There are a couple on eBay at the moment (they do come up pretty often):

I believe that Roberts has them in their catalog. I don't know if they are old stock or if they have found a current manufacturer.

Thanks Tod. Man....those eBay ones are getting expensive and the bidding frenzie isn't over yet.

Those filters are probably still around but getting harder to find locally. If it were mine, I'd pick up a new/used filter housing so I could use the replaceable cartridge instead of the sealed unit. Those filters can be found just about any place and a lot less expensive.

Will check into these filters next time I'm at napa. Should be soon I practically work there!

I think Andy Bernbaum has them listed at $45. I think I'll look around some more.
