What year Jeep Cherokee did you get the sway bar from.

I have a 98 Cherokee, I would like to use the sway bar on my Plymouth....

I have a 95 Ranger sway bar that looks to be an ok fit, but the Jeep looks better...

Robert, are you going to install the sway bar on your '38? Curious on how you will do it with the tube axle/parallel leaf spring front end. Derek

I believe I can copy a bracket similar to what Oldguy48 has made, to install on the 38.

I have an original 37 weak swaybar with brackets that I can use for a pattern...

I'm interested. I would guess others may also. Is that the only part that needs to be fabricated? I have a  '54 Plymouth.

I found the Cherokee sway bar on ebay, seems to be a stock item, and likely available at most pick-and-pulls.  But the Cherokee links seem to be different - do you know what the links would cross-reference to?  With the help of this thread it's probably straighforward to make the needed mounting pieces, thanks.

The one you have is the same number I see listed at the local auto parts,

but does not look like the bar that I have off my 98 Cherokee XJ.

The bar on Oldguy48's photos look like the one off my 98.

take a look at a 927-165, for a 98 grand Cherokee limited, 1 1/8 bar, looks like it might have the front drop to it

What sway bar did you use? Was it a jeep also?

Al

Yes, mine was from a 96 Jeep Cherokee. Just bought another one today for my 49; $20 from Speedway Auto Salvage.

Thanks very much to the OP for this thread. I've found it quite helpful and would like to do this to my 39 Plymouth coupe. Also thanks to others that have posted useful info.
