pflaming Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) What are the inexpensive choices for an intake manifold to mount dual carbs? I know the exhaust manifold can be modified several ways, how about the intake manifold? My interest in the category of an increased understanding of what can be done, what is available, and what are the benefits, actual and cosmetic. I look at engines and see a lot of interesting things and I wonder why for and if that is to be done what else has to be done that isn't obvious. Edited July 31, 2013 by pflaming Quote
Frank Elder Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Why not support Moose and send him some cabbage for a one of a kind custom intake. Seriously Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 what are you doing to the engine that will make use of these modification..are you upping the CI, increasing your CR, installing a ground cam to induce more air/fuel and with that you must improve your exhaust to allow the engine to exhale...are you also improving your ignition to fire this fuel saturated intake of air?..and along with that are you going to be running the proper rear ratio to keep the engine in the correct RPM band designed into the camshaft being installed? or disregard all the above and just bolt together some stuff for the cool look Quote

murfman1967 Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 You can still get a new Offenhauser intake for 300.00. It is not exactly budget, but I like to support old school companies that still cater to our needs. + it comes with a linkage kit to hook up the carbs. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Paul; I thought we had discussed my converted manifold setup already. Quote
Mark D Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 definitely discussed mine! http://p15-d24.com/topic/31047-my-offy-intake-reds-headers-transplant/ Quote
