Don Coatney Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Google "sams radio schematics" and see what you find. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Google "sams radio schematics" and see what you find. I think Don means 'Sams Photofacts'. Some public libraries have them, and they regularly show up on eBay. Quote

Johnny S Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 I've got a copy of the radio manual ... need to figure out how to post it on this site. Quote

Johnny S Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Also found a Philco Radio Forum ..... http://philcoradio.com/phorum/index.php .... the 807 was used in the '50 Dodge too ... so I think my 803 schematic covers it. I sent a copy to Alshere59 to post. I'm still learning the new format. 1 Quote
desoto1939 Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 On my 39 Desoto the antenna which is a factory insatlled item, or I should say dealer installed item has the anntennas under the runningboards, two metal rods that look light lighting rods that have rubber insulators where they attach to the running board. This was know as the roadway antenna. They also offered the skyway anntena that was on the left side of the car and attahced on an angle between the front door and the front fender onthe side of cowel. They had two posts or anchors that held the antenna to the body. Most also had a tiny red plastic ball at the top of the antenna mast. These can be found onthe bay but if original they are very costly. You do not get very good reception with the runningboard style of antenna but it is fun getting people to tell you where the antennas are located onthe car. They all thing it is in the roof or in the windshild then when the find the answer they are surprised. Fun game to play with people. Rich Hartung desoto1939@aol.com Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 The two most common things to keep a radio from working is the capacitors all need to be replaced as they dry out over the years, and the vibrator probably needs to be replaced as well. Tubes often times can be good, but probably should be tested.......if you can find some one to do it. Yes, a modern style speaker can be used in place of the original electromagnetic type. Just have to find the right two wires to operate it. Quote

The 803 schematic was already posted in the resource area. http://p15-d24.com/files/download/35-mopar-model-803-radio-information/ Not sure if it is the same as a 807 but here they are. There are two files one listed for the mopar and one philco. Quote
P15-D24 Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 The schematic for these is typically pasted inside one of the side plates of the radio. Quote
