This was the longest drive I've done to date ; just shy of 200 miles on a 90°F day, and the old bus ran flawlessly. :D  All in, it was a 320 mile weekend. Thanx fur lookin'!

my first on the road trip was to Rhinebeck, a 400 mi. round trip from home on long island.i had recently purchased my 54 Windsor convertible. I awakened the car from a 25 year storage. did tires, brakes, got the engine running and tuned and took off to the show. we had a great weekend there and the car ran real good, still does.we got lost in NYC on the way home. we ended up in a neighborhood that I normally would not want to be in, but the residents loved the car so much we were treated real good and they got in a car and led us safely back to the main road we wanted to be on. you meet friendly people everywhere in an old car. capt den

Hey now that you are out and about, and getting some confidence in your car's ability to actually act like a car (as in take you reliably from one place to another) we will need to make an attempt to make an event somewhere.  How far are you from Saratoga Springs, NY?

About 85 miles, Greg. I had intended to head over there for the Concours last month, but something came up. I think the weather wasn't exactly ideal. Thinking about heading over for the Hemmings sponsored show in September, but that's a long way off.

Isn't that just too cool? No doubt about it : old cars make new friends, and there are good people in every community.

Good on you!  Great fun!  Great Pics!

And,..you can even improve on that by having a few friends in old cars join you and relish the images seen up front or via the rear view mirror, of cool cars on the road and or in urban vistas.
