First off id like the thank you guys for this great site, Iv been reading non stop since i bought my truck DF2-126 (B2D) in the fall.

I plan to use the truck as a daily driver to get to and from work in style. One upgrade i feel is a must is front disc brakes, i did read a thread about a month back about this and now im having trouble finding it. What im looking for is the site of the gentleman on this site that sells them. Next question i have is in regards to my distributor, i have the 1A0 model with no vacuums. when taking it apart for a tune up and paint job i broke one of the springs. Where can a new one be had? Last  question is a request for some pictures of how you have your coil set up, i bought a new one but my old one had a black plastic clamp on the top that says Ford so id like to ditch that.

thanks again for the help.

Yes, Charlie, A.K.A Olddaddy, is the owner of Rusty Hope. I'm not sure how his kit will work on a 1 ton, but I'm sure Charlie can answer that.

There have been some guys here that have sent their distributors out for repair, but I don't remember the name of the outfit that does the repairs. Maybe they'll chime in, or you can search for distributor repairs and find it. That place may be able to help you with the spring issue.

Maybe this will help with your coil question;

Thank you for the fast replies. rusty hope is just the one i was looking for. As for the coil that is just the pic i needed, the only difference i see is my wire holder is red.

I got charlies brake kit on my one ton. Just follow his instructions. I also swapped the back end so I am actually using Nova disc calipers on the front, nova drums on the back and a nova proporitioning valve.

The fun part was buying the rotors, pads, hoses and bearings from the parts store as you need to reference four different vehicles :)

Well i took my wheels off today and it looks like the last owner was not a fan of brake pads. I was hoping to get it going with drums as i can get new shoes, but the drums are not going to be usable due to the holes in them. Looks like i will have to go disc, what have otheres done on the one tons. Id like to keep it a dually on the back and a bit heavier on the front.

thanks

Where are the holes on the drums? I seem to remember somewhere on this forum a discussion about drilling holes on the face of the drum just clearing the brake drum wear surface. The holes were used to assist with doing a "major adjustment" by giving access to the anchor pin when the drum was mounted. Been looking for the discussion/thread but can't seem to find it.

I always turned mine from the back side. Loosen the nut and drop the cotter pin back in. Now you can turn the nut and it will turn the adjustment pin. (be sure it turns freely first) Once set where you want it, remove the cotter pin and retighten the nut. You may need to pull the drum again to hold the pin while tightening the nut.

Merle...that's the way I do mine also.  Just saying that if the holes in the drums are in fact "adjusting holes", maybe no need to jump to discs.  Incidently, I have a seized anchor pin (the long one), left front wheel.  Tried penetrating oil, heat, and pressing out with a c-clamp...no luck.  Any suggestions?

on a one ton there should be no reason to dig around inside the drum to adjust, all should be on "outside of the inside" the backer plate, unless they drilled holes to check gap on the pads during adjustment.

On the siezed pin, try, and I say try with caution, a sharp rap or two with a dead blow onlong the axis of removal.  DO NOT try an impact driver....those shear stuff off....my buddy did that to me on one of my rear major adjusters and it SUCKED fixing.  Can you post a picture of the offending pin?  Might jog a memory.
