kbuhagiar Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 I usually like Dilbert, but I must be overlooking some subtle level of humor here... http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2013-02-11/ Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 it's just a take off on how people percieve other folks hobbies and interests...old cars may not be as facinating as say, collecting belly button lint from swim suit models..but you may have a better chance of getting away with it should momma find out... randroid Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Gents, Lint is the last thing I'd expect to see in a swimsuit models belly button, but then her belly button is the last place I'd expect to look. -Randy Quote
T120 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 ..I believe Tim hit it on the mark and the humour would be seen in how direct they are in expressing their disinterest in the car guy's hobby... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Guess I'm prejudiced.......I didn't find it funny. Pretty insulting I guess you'd say. I think Tim has it about right. Quote
T120 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I guess it's all a matter of perception,Bob..showed my wife the Dilbert strip -she thought it was hilarious Quote
Oldguy48 Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I usually find Dilbert to be extremely funny. Not so much with this one. Wayne Quote
RobertKB Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 It's just a comic strip. Dilbert and Wally just aren't car guys. Quote
austinsailor Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Sadly, that is the way more and more people think. There are a lot in government who would crush them all. Quote
plymouthcranbrook Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Sadly, that is the way more and more people think. There are a lot in government who would crush them all. There are a lot of people who won't be happy until we are all lining up for the bus or train each morning. Quote
B-Watson Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Dilbert and the gang are computer nerds. To them doing absolutely anything not computer related is a waste of time. Can you imagine Sheldon on the The Big Bang Theory working on a 1948 Plymouth? He'd never drive one, or any car actually, as he does not have a driver's license. The world is full of Dilberts and Sheldons who have a very narrow view of the world. Quote
Tom Skinner Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Dilberts and Wally's haven't got time for a hobby, because they are too busy working long hours (unwillingly) in a cubical. They wouldn't have the nerve to stand up to their wives or kids to allocate the funds, time, or energy to fix cars. They are unwilling subordinates that fit the passive aggressive role, one minute kissing the bosses behind - the next talking behind his back. They are unhappy in their jobs which constitute the better part of their waking lives, and seek to make others as miserable as themselves. Look around they are fast becoming everyone U.S.A. Not me - I refuse to lose - I choose Chrysler Products. L.O.L. I guess that's why I have a lower paying job - I don't subscribe to their chicken poop existences. Quote
