We prefer "Correctional Officer", at least that's what the system says. Just remember, the Police and Corrections , spend their lives at work, trying to keep your streets safe, and to keep criminals behind bars where they belong. When I go to work, I deal with a 100% criminal element each time, try that on for 25-30 years. I am fortunate, as I have 1 of the best postings you could ask for in this system, many brother and sister officers, go to work in a nightmare, disease, violence, gangs, and mental stress each shift......

Fred, congratulations on the award! :P Did you change your forum name again? You will soon have more aliases than some of the inmates you deal with.

Fred,

See if I get this straight ...

"C" is the designation for Cargo, which the Spitfire never was.

Model designations were in terms of "Marks", such as Spitfire Mk Seven, and didn't use the progressive numbering system popular with the Yanks.

The Spitfire used the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, which had significantly more than six cylinders.

I don't get it; I'm so confused.  Please return to the fold so I might make sense of the whole situation.

Randy, yes, Spitfires used the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine as did the Hurricane, P51 Mustang, Lancaster bomber, Mosquito fighter/bomber and a few other WWII aircraft. One of the great engines of all time with its V12 cylinders. I have heard some run on a Lancaster bomber being restored not far from where I live. The sound makes your willie tingle and that is just at low RPM! My dad grew up in London and during the blitz he says you could tell what kind of aircraft was overhead by the sound of the engine(s), the Merlin being the most memorable.

However, as I am sure you are aware, Fred is referring to his C38 Chrysler with the flathead six, maybe with the Spitfire head.

Yes Robert, I am referring to 46-48 Chrysler with a "Spitfire", I have 1 of these heads, waiting in the wings for me. The name just was a thought. The C38S Chrsyler is a 46-early49 Royal model. I hope to have the Spitfire head on, at some certain point. I cannot use it on my current engine, as it is post 1950, with an internal water pump by-pass, but do have a 48 C38S 251 engine, complete with full flow oil filtration, sitting here at home...

How did this post get "answered" and why would somebody think it needed to be?????   A feature I would like to see probably doesn't exist.....being able to shut down your own thread if you so choose.

Lots of OT posts take unexpected turns. That's half the fun. I agree about the "answered" being kinda weird, not just in this post but any other.

There seem to be numerous new features to this forum program.

Some of which I can decipher......some of which I don't really understand.

I think this program is like a lot of other items these days......will do more things than you really

need to do.  Just look at all the tricks your cell phone or computer will do.

So I guess the best answer thing is probably overkill.

The one thing I wish people would do is to put their location below their names.....and also

state what car or cars they have.  Sometimes a person starts talking about having trouble

with some item, like a starter maybe..........but a starter for What??  They forget to mention

as they already know what kind of car (or truck) it is.

I don't know if you noticed Bob.....but I replace my zen designation with my car .
