JIPJOBXX Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 I did not take to many photo's at this event but did manage of course to take a few of my old Dodge and another Dodge that was sitting two cars away from mine. I think the other Dodge is a 1937 but could be a 39? Fun car to check out as this guy has really decked it out to the hilt with police car gear. Quote
Reg Evans Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 The other car is a 39. One of my favorite years. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Would the Police have carried around a Tommy gun back then? Maybe it was confiscated? Quote
Young Ed Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Would the Police have carried around a Tommy gun back then? Maybe it was confiscated? I doubt it. Would have to have been confiscated. A neighbor who usually stops by and chats plymouths with Dad and I one day asked if we were interested in seeing his hobby. He finished his job and then drove back with his tommy gun. It was amazing to hold! He showed us how the 30shot mag worked etc. Also showed us what the US army changed to turn it into the gun that was used in WWII. Quote
Reg Evans Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Here's mine. I'm planning on installing a gun rack holding this gun in the back window of my 35 Dodge. Actually it's an Airsoft. it's very realistic and weighs 8.75 lbs. I painted the orange tip black for more realism but will repaint the tip orange when I put in the car. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Would the Police have carried around a Tommy gun back then? Maybe it was confiscated? My agency, U.S. Border Patrol, regularly carried Tommy Guns during prohibition. (We were still usually outgunned - down south we still are). We still had some in the inventory (but certainly not used) as late as the '90s (I got to "coon finger" a couple of them). I was a supervisor in Ft. Hancock, TX when DOJ did an "Nth degree" inventory that showed my station still had a "Model 1925 Thompson Sub-Machinegun", and DOJ wanted us to turn it in for disposal. Quote
Young Ed Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Wow now thats foolishness. The neighbor who brought his over said he paid over 20K for his. Does disposal mean trash or do they auction things off? You'd like to think the gov would be smart enough not to throw away valuables...... Quote
58prostreet Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 No, I'm sure the shining stars we have running things in Washington, D.C. would never screw up like that. Do u think? Bob Quote
