I have a passenger side stamped mirror bracket that matches the driver's side. I think they are the same, but I could measure them if it would help you.

I'll go ahead and post a photo of the set I sold Charles a while ago.

...the right-hand mirrors were standard on right-hand drive...wonder if there is a stash of driver mirrors for sale down under

here's the pair I found on eBay back in 2000...the driver mirror bracket looks to have been installed & removed, possibly at the dealer; the passenger mirror bracket has only some shelf wear:

Someone ought to make a carbon fiber copy of Charles's before they dissapear from the face of planet earth forever. (looks like it would be so easy)

One of my part trucks haad the upgrades mirror bracket. It's much stronger but the mirror head still vibrated.

Thanks for your comments. It really doesn't surprise me to hear that there could be a vibration issue with these mirrors. To my eye they almost look like an afterthought.

I think I am going to look for some aftermarket truck mirrors of the period that use a different mounting arrangement. Perhaps something with a larger mirror on it. I am making this truck into a daily driver and if I have to deviate from stock for safety reasons so be it.

I'd think truckers supply outfits (don't know any) must have quality aftermarket truck mirrors and done correctly probably wouldn't look out of place. As far as visibility is concerned, as you'd imagine, the stock 5" dia. round mirrors are just o.k. Let's see what you come up with. Are there any Mopar Military Mirror NOS or Repo's that http:www.vintagepowerwagons.com carries?

you could try Midwest Military....don't know what they'd have for military versions of the Dodges.

Wishful thinking on the external mirrors Tim, but we did things a little different with mounting our mirrors here in Oz.

I reckon that a fella could adapt our left side door lock remote to your trucks over there though - allowing you an external lock on your driver's side.
