I'm normally on the truck side with my 52 b3b that I'm almost done with, but we brought home another project, a 48 desoto 4 door custom. It should be a straight forward project as it is very similar to our 41 4 door custom. The car has been sitting since 1977. We got it from a guy in our local car club. He started working on it in 77, he rebuilt the engine (not ran yet) and collected parts for it (many NOS) but never finished it. Most of the chroming is done, a lot of NOS stainless, and NOS flawless bumpers came with it. The interior is original and is still very nice. The bad part is sometime before the guy we bought the car from got it, it was in a garage in Toledo, OH. Some kids broke in and threw a few cinder blocks at it, hence the dents on the driver side of the car (I guess I don't have any pics of the passenger side). It has 53,000 miles on it and appears to be rust free. As soon as I finish the truck I will tear into the car. Just thought I'd share the purchase...

First picture is how it was in the garage when we looked at it a few weeks ago, second pic is of it pulled out of the garage, next is when I got it home, and final is in our garage and most of the extra parts.

Very nice! Looks like a Windsor. How is the interior?

Interior is very nice, all original, the wood gaining is almost perfect, not a single tear or rip.

WHAT AN AWESOME FIND! :cool:Looks like it just needs a little cleaning up to get it road worthy. Should be a fun project. Wish I could find such a find.

I think I'll repaint it, the dents are pretty bad on the drivers side...if there were no dents I'd be driving it next week!

Thanks for all the compliments with it! It will be a while before I start on it, I know if I start now on the car my truck wont get done for a while and it would be a chore not to mix up parts and stay organized. Hopefully get to within a year. The plan is to get it driving and mechanically sound, then do the body work and paint it.
