I'd probably not toss any logs on that sweetheart of a bed! LOL!

Yup, I use my "Big 1 Fricken Awesome" as a real truck. Today I took the back roads home, mostly dirt. Was a great ride shifting and splitting gears, window down, gear whine...loud. Life is good. Love my truck!!!

Stumpy, I just bought this B2JA a couple of months ago w 18K original miles. Its also a 5 +2 w a 251. The dump body works fine, but I think I'm going to replace it with a flatbed to match my 1 ton. I just installed the parking lights tonight. Can you post some more pics of the front of your truck? What size rubber are you running on the it? Mike

Hi Stumpy;

:D:D:D That's perfect! I love to see these trucks used for the work they were meant for. Do you have a sawmill? Please post more pictures.

Never mind Hank.......he should have got an Escalade or maybe a Navigator. :rolleyes:

unless he changed it, his tires are 8.25 x 20, standard truck tires. about 36 inches in diameter, mounted. same as what mine has.

mine looks similar, also a b-1 fa 152. interesting that yours has stainless grille bars and headlight doors. according to bunn, the big trucks didn't get those.

Hey Fellas,

I haven't been on much, but I have surely been using my B1FA! Figured I would check in and see if all is well. Here's a pic of the load of logs I brought home today.

i brought a load home in mine last month. took the back roads, too, and enjoyed the split-shifting. ran out of gas going uphill. that compelled me to fix the gas gauge (actually, replace the tank unit with one from a mid-70s wagoneer). it was nice to be able to dump the wood out, rather than manually unload it - same went for the 5 yards of horse manure for the garden.

Always appreciate pics like these. Don't be shy - keep 'em coming!

It would be cool to have a 2013 calendar made for the club featuring all big trucks 1 ton and up!

Mine was a firetruck in its original life in Chicopee, MA. Maybe that's why the ss strips. I've seen a 52 old firetruck that had the stainless whiskers and parking light housings sitting in a junkyard. Must have been an option on the big trucks. Mike

How about a 3.73 Rear end on a blanket on top of a piece of plywood? See if Gene can find one in one of his cross country voyages, and we'll meet up at the BBQ. However I'd want to stay a few days and drive her back with it mounted.

Now there is a plan,

Hank :)
