Hey Bob the Coca-Cola cafe at Springfield, MO fairgrounds must be an official

meeting place of forum members, because if I remember right that is where we met as well.

I met Clay Diggs at a show in Piggott, AR about three years ago. We didn't get the "official" picture, but I assure you it happened. Always good folks to meet from the forum.

I had to drive 3 hours south of my place for a family birthday party this weekend so I thought that I'd catch up with AndyDodge while I was in his town. It is always a pleasure to catch up with AndyD. We usually have lengthy conversations on the topic of MOPAR's when we get together and today was no exception - much to the dislike of my children waiting in the car! I had the attached photos taken at the time as I am aware of the forum 'standard of proof' (no photos - no such meeting)... LOL... (as Andy would say) !!!

First photo: AndyD's toys.

Second photo: AndyD (the good looking fella on the left) and me on the right.

I was out at another car/truck show today and spent some time catching up with a couple of other forum members. Me on the left, IanT Qld (centre), and IanDAustralia (right). It's always good to catch up and share a story (or two) in person with other forum members. I also caught up with aussiedodgegirl and her husband there earlier in the day. What a great day!

Well, this forum has again allowed me the unique opportunity to meet yet another MOPAR truck enthusiast. I had the pleasure of finally meeting up with forum member Lloydie during the week. I made the 9 hour trek south to his place to collect a number of parts which which will play a large role in the upcoming restoration of my 53 Dodge coupe truck. Lloydie has almost finished a major upgrade of his old 49 Dodge truck which included the installation of a 6 liter V8 GM motor with a 6 speed manual gearbox, power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes. He told me that I wasn't allowed to leave his place before I 'test drove' his old truck. I have to say that it was an unusual feeling to put one's foot down on the gas pedal in one of these old trucks and have it take off like a rocket! I was most pleased to finally meet up with Lloydie and his lovely wife, and am most grateful for the numerous parts that he provided me for my next project.

9 hr's? Bribane to Sidney? Sounds about what what it took me 10 years ago on the mostly two lane highway.

Are you both wearing your Aussie work gear??

Seems to me many didn't wear much differant clothers to work- the business men wore dress shorts! with their light weight suit tops.

Must be coming into your summer season!

Great to see ya guys into the old mopars!

Best to ya,

Brisbane to Newcastle Doug.I think it's about 12hrs Brisbane to Sydney these days. There are too many point to point (average) speed cameras on the highway now to do the speeds of old days! It's pretty much 4 lane highway from Port Macquarie to Sydney now.

I had shoes on, but I reckon that Lloydie was wearing work non-protective footwear - we get them in steel capped now (see attached).

We are in the Spring season now and still experiencing maximum temps in the high 30°C  - some up to 14° above normal for this time of year (38°C = 100°F). Not looking forward to the heat of Summer at this rate.

Well..today while traveling west of Atlanta metro area I had time to meet up with member Wayne Mitchell and see his D24 project he has sitting in his garage.  He is going to be going quite deep in the overall build and has a good start on it now.  He was by chance off work today and met me right off the interstate as he was in town at the very minute also...other wise..I would have never found his place...lol    As I turned onto his street I noticed a neighbor with a silver Morris Minor in what appears great condition...stopped by on my way out but this guy was not at home...oh well.
