I looked at that car last week while I was in the yard. A very good car to restore and pretty rust free. Most all the chrome was shiny.

The standard very rusty Std 3 speed was in the radiator core support area standing on end. No OD cable or other signs of ever being a OD car. Engine and radiator were gone. I did not look in the trunk tough. Usually the engine block and parts end up in the trunk after a failed attempt to restore the car!

I would be curious as to the condition of the bumpers, front and rear.

Thanks, Keith

bumpers looked pretty good. i took pics..but my computer is being a jerk right now..i tell you guys back east with all the salt on the roads..your guy's rust is a lot worst then ours..the car had some rust..but not to bad, the doors opened and shut really tight.

if it were me and i had the time/space/$/cool roommate i would drag this one home..and get some running gear for it..

Those bumpers are good looking! What a keeper though! Funny how all the spare parts end up in the trunk....

yea i saw the gen. and started to lick my lips...but i couldnt take any parts:(..i tried to get good pics of the bumpers for you glad you like them :) i just hate to see these old cars get crushed, especialy when somebody could use the parts.. i'm going to keeping tabs on this one..maybe somebody will buy or if they give up..it goes in the yard ...

That steering wheel and horn ring look decent. I would love to get hold of those. Also, the Plymouth name tag on the trunk.

My guess is it is overdrive as you can see "drive" on the trunk. It would be worth your while picking that car up for parts. Not a practical restoration due to the excessive rust and the fact it is a 4-door. Don't get me wrong, I like 4-doors and my own '53 is just that but it is a good survivor with original paint.

Not sure if the script on the lower right corner of the trunk is half of

the word "overdrive" or not. Rather looks like it.

Didn't see a pull handle in the interior

shot near emergency brake handle....maybe would be to right of

steering wheel.

I would definitely be interested in the steering wheel, horn ring, and horn button. Plymouth nametag if possible. I would certainly be willing to pay your cost and shipping and maybe a finder's fee or donation to the forum.

Yes, I am wrong. I believe "HyDrive" is correct. Now that I think about it, I believe "Overdrive" on the '53 Plymouths had a small "d". Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up!:P
