Plymouthy Adams Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Kingsway was the named they used for the Dodge export car starting in 1940 and continued with this name through the introduction of the Dodge Dart. The cars were rebadged Plymouth bodies, items like grille and bumper were created to mimic the Dodge of the same year. Trim name items like the horn/steering wheel center, dash topper and rear brake light got the Dodge..Kingsway was the entry level trim with the Kingsway Deluxe the higher line..where they snagged the name and for what reason I do not know.. never stiff the waitress over a bad joke from the crowd/entertainment staff Quote

Seeing your nice '41 makes me think I should restore mine and not sell it!They are great cars. Well worth the effort. I purchsed mine in 1973 as a 55,000 mi. original car. Repainted it once in 1985 and still has original chrome, interior and the engine has not been apart on my watch. Phil Quote

You can see the '38 Chrysler in the background. The '41, I believe, only has 45,000+ miles on the original engine (starts with D21) but sat for over 40 years and I believe it has sticky valves as compression in very weak. Need to pull the head to see what I have. It's tempting to do the car but I know what they cost to do, and I would have to move one of my other cars out to do the work. I am still tempted though as the body is great with good floor and rockers. Edited December 16, 2011 by RobertKB Quote
