Ed Griffin Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 It has been so long since I have been at the site I have forgotten if there is a listing of what the original wiring color coding is. I tried looking around the main page and searching some posts but was unlucky in my attempt. I'm trying to find a chart that may show what the original wiring on a 48 Dodge would have looked like and what gauges they were. I know this isn't for Chevy but I'm also looking for the same thing on a 50 Chevy 1/2 ton. I know there are wire sets that can be purchased but I located some rolls of individual wiring and am now in need of knowing what colors to choose. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated. Don Coatney Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 I have never seen a wire color chart for a P-15 or a D-24. So this may be as good as it gets. First drawing is for a Dodge truck and I believe the second is for a 52-53 Plymouth. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 The 46-54 shop manual has the p15 wiring diagram in the back along with the newer ones. The p15 one lists colors but not sizes so I used it along with the 49 one for reference on size. Quote
oldmopar Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Here is some information I got from Rhode Island wiring a few years ago. http://oldmopar.com/oldmopar/wirecodes.html Quote

The 46-54 shop manual has the p15 wiring diagram in the back along with the newer ones. The p15 one lists colors but not sizes so I used it along with the 49 one for reference on size. Here is a scan of the one Young Ed was referring to in the 46-54 FSM. Quote
