Some times you just have to decide to build it and see who comes. Some times, you eat alone and chat with the locals. Other times, folks show up and it becomes a regular get to gather. The wife is already up there and she is flying home on that Sunday morning. If I remember correctly Sunday traffic down 87 is usually pretty intense after a nice weekend. It looks like a long day for me on Sunday driving back to Delaware. Besides Roscoe is there any place a little closer to NYC that is convenient to all ? Maybe Monticello or Middletown ? Cause if we go to Monticello, then Roscoe ain't that much further or closer depending on where yer comig from. Going from NY ro Roscoe on Sunday AM shouldn't be a problem. As for going home take 209 through the Deleware water gap then 206 down to the I76/I287 interchange. Quote

Basically because I will have to take the dog up but she can stay with my in-laws. Of course there is always the hope I can find a dog sitter. Greg & Bob, This is my plan. Unfortunately I will be bringing the Lab with me to Roscoe so that I could head back to Delaware after breakfast. The thought of fighting Sunday weekend traffic back into NYC is just too much stress. Not to mention heading out on Monday in the normal traffic mess. In the past I spent many enjoyable weekends in the Catskills and many hours in the car at the Tappan Zee Bridge not to mention 87 or the Cross Bronx creepway. I’m sure things haven’t improved over the years. I asked the wife if she wanted to drive back with me and the dog on Monday but she would rather fly so heading back on Sunday makes the most sense for me. Tim, I'll be gripping the steering wheel for many hours so how can you say not gripping. 650 mile round trip with the dog drooling on my new interior. Chet… Quote
greg g Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Some old blankets should be in your immediate future. Don;t know about your lab but our little terrier mix just loves ridding inthe P 15. Everytime I start it up he gets all excited, runs to the door barking and runs in circles till either she goes of I shut it off. Doesn't matter if I am just backing it out of the garage to wash it, she wants to be there. Once rolling, if my wife is riding, she will climb up and settle between the top of the seat and my wife's neck (obviously not a place for the lab) and ride looking out the window. If its just me and her she will settle next to me and curl up. Hope your dog likes to ride. Gotta run out and get some oil today, check the belts and clean about a months worth of dead bugs of the windshield. Quote
