greg g Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 The Finger Lakes Region of the AACA is having their annual show in Auburn, NY tomorrow (Saturday aug 12) in Downtown Auburn. The show used to be in Emerson park at the north end of Owasco Lake. Apparently the Goose Crap has finally gotten deep enough to force a relocation to downtown. Is anyone else (besides me) on this august forum planning to attend this event either as a participant or a spectator??? If you kow anythig about Auburn, I hope the Crows do not make a reappearence..........and crow poop is probably just as bad as goose crap. Quote
Big_John Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Just came back from Auburn for a trip to the Bass Pro shop and some dinner at Curly's. I would like to get out there, but I have some other obligations, including our anniversary. Still... If I get a chance... I might try to spectate a bit. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Arrival of crows may be a murder. Quote

38plymouth Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 My neighbor went with his ford. I wish we could have made it but I had to stand up in a wedding. Quote
greg g Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 Would have like to see you. We should still try to get together, you ever get to Skan ellus on Mondays?? By the way the first car is a Hudson Terraplane 36 or 37, the secod is indeed a La Salle, and the third in an American Austin Bantam. they were manufactured under liscence from Austin Motors of England in a plant in Butler, Pa. The Bantam Corporation got Screwed by Ford in WWII. Bantam was the developer of the Jeep or Light General Purpose Vehicle for the army in about 36 or 37, they produced them up to the begining of WWII. then when war production ramped up, Henry told his buddies in Congress and the war department that Bantam and Willys could never keep up with demand, and had the rights to manufacture the vechicle under the Willys design to the Ford company. And as they say the rest is history. The last bantam car was produced in 41. Quote

Our neighbor got a 48? ford and he has been bugging me to cruise around. What is Snan Ellus?? We are hoping to make it to the Jordan Fall Festival. Quote
greg g Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 Skan ellus is the ice cream stand at the intersection of 174 and 20 in between Skaneatles and Marcellus. They have a cruise in Monday's from 5 to 8 PM I haven't been in a couple years as we do a trivia night on Monday's but the way we have been doing lately a break may be in order. Quote
