P-12 Tommy Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Heck, Just by looking at it you can probably make one for about a buck in materials. Tom
RobertKB Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 The older members all know why this particular item is being posted. Grow up and give it a rest. Anyone is welcome to charge what they want for any item they have. If they get it, good for them. If they don't, they will lower the price. Let sleeping dogs lie.
BobT-47P15 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 And -- if anyone is interested in lighting up their hood ornament, a forum search should turn up several discussions on that topic.
michael.warshaw Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) if a repop from the guy in ma, is 125, then a oem should be double the price. these pars have not been produced in many years, if i paid 85 to fill my gas tank and it will dissapear in a matter of days, then a rare car part should be worth bucks... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220757984254&viewitem= Edited March 29, 2011 by michael.warshaw
Skrambler Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 If anyone is interested in a set of those above mirrors, Jay Fisher, the founding member of the P.O.C. makes perfect, even better than perfect replicas mirrors, with the attaching hardware. I bought a set from him 20+ years ago, and they still look as if they were made yesterday! HE is a Gentleman, and a man of true integrity too...
_shel_ny Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Mirrors started at $100. The bidders set the final selling price:)

Captain Neon Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 Rick Harrison would request a letter of authenticity to verify the claim of NOS. I wouldn't pay $15 for a repop much less $285 for an item of very questionable provenance. Seller doesn't even have the box. The only thing more foolish than $125 for a repop is $285 for NOS. Besides, I have seen authentic period installed hood ornament light-ups on cars in juncqueyards. They use a much larger bulb than the item shown on eBay. I wouldn't trust any one selling this item as NOS for $285 much less some one with a score < 100% with complaints about misrepresenting his wares.

Alshere59 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Interesting the bidding started at $100 US the bidders bid it up. So I have to agree let sleeping dogs lie. No one forced anyone into anything. I try to go by: Caveat emptor I have read enough threads that degrade to the point of no returns I hope this one doesn't go that direction.
Captain Neon Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 gotta pay to play.. My car runs and drives. Can the same be said for your assemblage of parts?
roadworthy Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I'm glad my car is for driving, not for spending a fortune on
daddyo23 Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I'm glad my car is for driving, not for spending a fortune on That's what mine's for....
Greenbomb Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Dang! So far, mine's not for either one!
michael.warshaw Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 i have 5 old cars, so i have the others to drive but i miss the old mopar, cant wait to drive it again, but once im driving it will need nothingand better than new. good things dont come easy.
Captain Neon Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 I used to live in Missouri. Show Me! I don't mean pictures taken at a car show either, but valid NYS registration cards with your name on them. That would be 6 cars. Your purported 5 old cars, and the magic Beemer.
greg g Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 NY registration for cars is weight based for normal registrations, the more you stress the roads, the more you pay. My Jetta is apx 30 bucks a year and the deal is for two years so 60 bucks, the explorer is 78 for 2 years. Antiques registered as historic vehicles are 29 buck annually, MC are 20 or so annually. Taxes are sales tax based on sales price whenever a car changes hands, if a title is involved, I believe that just went up to 75. Again a one time fee until you sell then the new owner need to apply for title with the same charge again and pay the sales tax again.

Captain Neon Posted March 30, 2011 Author Report Posted March 30, 2011 Is that supposed to be your proof? I can finds lots of pictures of cars on the Internet. I asked for scanned copies of your NYS registrations clearly showing YOUR name as the OWNER. Put up or shut up! You should have those readily available.

And im looking for a 49 dodge wayfarer roadster if anyone knows fone for sale. I don't want your address. Any of these other photos can be obtained without owning the vehicle in question simply by visiting a parking lot, car show, or some one else's garage. Until I see a copy of a legal document with your name proving ownership of these 6 cars, I will not believe your claims. As far as the Beemer, I have reason to believe that the car is not yours, but rather a very trusting friend allows you to borrow it. Not trying to brag about what you own? That's all you ever do, and I think you are a poseur. You remind me of little puncque kids when I was in college that claimed to be personal friends of Axl Rose, Eddie Vedder, or Kirk Cobain. Ya know what? It didn't take too much smarts for us to prove they were lying.
