ggdad1951 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 what have you guys used to replace the seals (6-10-10) on the clutch dust cover plate (6-10-9)? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 There's a seal down there? When I first saw your post I didn't have my parts book handy to see what you were talking about. Now that I do I see it listed in the parts list, but where's the picture of it? What seal are they refering too? Merle Quote
HanksB3B Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 the quarter circle pieces of felt that are about 1/4" thick and split-riveted to a flat steele cover plate behind the stamped flywheel steel cover? Hank Quote
ggdad1951 Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 yah the felt like material...there was a piece by the halc circle and along the top on the opposite side. Mine were all torn up in chunks, found the split rivets, but what "felt" to use? Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I have never replaced mine, rear main should keep it from leaking, I thinks its just a back up. Tape is always a good choice Quote
ggdad1951 Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 yah, I think they are mostly a "dust" cover to keep crap outa the clutch area....so I'll find some felt like stuff Quote
Young Ed Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 This piece? Find a piece of jute for automotive carpet. Worked great. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I used a sheet of felt from Hobby Lobby. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 No wonder I didn't now what seal you were talking about. I'm missing that piece altogether. Merle Quote

John-T-53 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I used some of that felt material sold as a non-scratch pad for the bottoms of furniture legs. I got it at True Value - comes in packs of 2 3"x4" sheets, brown or green. Self-stick, but pop rivets will hold it in place after it gets soaked with oil. This material also works good for floor board seams and as a general anti-squeak application as needed. Quote
