'55 Desoto deal

Wish me luck - wish that the motor is not stuck, the floors are not rotted out and it's worth the trip.

I have a deal worked out on this '55 Fireflite 2 door HT with a hemi V-8. Going to check it out Saturday, may load it, may not. If it's what it appears to be, I think it'll be a cool cruiser.

Does this qualify as a barn find?

Man what a sweet looking car. You can haul it right up to my house If the floor is good I'd take it stuck motor or not. The rockers and 1/4s appear solid.

Ed, I didn't think I'd want that new of a car, but strange how you can change your mind when they pop up.

I hope it's as solid as it looks. It's close enough I can afford to look and pass if it's not worth it.

Man, that looks awesome. My book says that there were only just over 10,000 made and it should have a 200hp 291ci hemi. If you don't want it, I'll take it!

I like the looks of that hood, a friend tried to convince me to do that to my 55 a few years ago. I might really consider it!!

well, the report is there is nothing to report. got up Saturday morning to go get the car, found a voicemail from a few minutes earlier that the seller had a family member who'd gotten sick earlier, we needed to reschedule.

got no answers to voicemail or email since.

I suspect he decided to hold out for a better deal, or maybe got a better offer and won't call and let me know. Oh, well, I have enough progects anyway.

did anyone here end up with it? Don't worry, I won't be upset. it would look good in my drive, but my drive is full anyway!
