Back to the 50's anyone?

I'm going to be at the back to the 50's this weekend. Anyone else? I won't be driving a pilothouse, but I'll be hauling one. I'm picking up my 49 COE Wednesday, then heading back south to the car show.

I'll be the guy with an '05 Dodge dually hauling a '60's Avion aluminum pickup camper (sort of like an Airstream in the back of a truck) and pulling a 40' flatbed trailer with a 1 1/2 ton COE. And some antique outboards and who knows what else.

You got some serious competition! How about starting a new Reality T.V. series called "Junk Haul" ? O.K., the Guest Host could be Merle and the first show could star Gene, Tim and Reg.

I'm going up Friday only but not with the Dodge. I'll be looking for Pilot Houses too. Then it's down to Iowa Speedway for the Saturday and Sunday races.

I'll be there most likely all 3 days. If you see my p15 or the 46 pickup stop and say hi. Be nice to meet up with everyone but that place is sooooo crazy its hard to find anyone in there.

We're waking up on the Wal-Mart parking lot in Ottumwa, Ia this morning. This rig is doing ok.

As to hauling, the previous episode was a haul of the '51 Fargo from Inwood, Manitoba to central Missouri about 6 weeks ago The border crossing guys thought we were nuts.

Mike how early do you get in there to get that spot? We usually end up on the street that borders the giant dirt lot and I think heads directly towards the grandstand.

I'll be driving down on Saturday morning in my Red Pilothouse but only as transportation. It will be in the spectators parking lot while I walk around. This place is so huge with so many cars that it is impossible to see everything let alone bump into anyone.

We meet with a group about 7am and caravan in together with 4-5 cars, usually pretty successful in getting that spot. Hope to see you there.
