If you notice, on the box it says "windshield type" and shows a knob

among the parts. The instructions posted are for the kind that goes

on the side of the cowl.

So, as far as I can tell, the antenna for sale should be like this one on a

1953 Buick.....over center of the windshield, and can be turned down by

the knob.

Mike,

This does lot sharp but since youwould have to drilla major hole in the roof just above the window this can cause a major problem with rain and leaking.

Also then you need to runthe antenna wire hidden in the headliner and then route in down along the side of the window then ubder the dash.

I would suggest that you use the cowl double pot mounted example which would be more period correct. This is just my thought and also this would be a whole lot cheaper. I would saw the antenna and wire will run about 25-50 versus the 500 bills but its your car and also your money that you are spending.

I've got one I picked up at a junkyard a few years ago. I believe the one I have was on an old Hudson.

Yep, I sure do like them Hudsons. I'd love to have one. I always though they shared similar lines with the 49 and 50 Merc, but to me the Merc don't hold a candle to a Hudson. That's my opinon, feel free to make it yours.:)

This one lives about 2 blocks down from me. It was restored by the same guy that did my dads 51 ply convert.
