The fire extinguishers are fairly common. One withthe mopar data istruction plate might be hard to find. I have seen them with Chevy Ford Oldsmobile, Caddillac, etc. but all the same brass body. Made by General Manufacturing Co of Detroit. See alot of them in antique boats labled for Century, Chriscraft, Gar Wood.

Also made in LA under the name of General Pacific. Can you get Carbon Tetrechloride for a recharge??????????????

Don't kow how effective they were.

Looking around on the web they seem to go for up to 100 bucks depending on condition for manufacture labled ones. So what you seem to have in the origial post is a $100 piece with a $2400 sticker. There are some with the Harley Davidson Lable you would think they would pull the big bucks but are in the 50 to 100 zip code.

Point to remember about jusding especially AACA. Every item that you add to the car that is a factory accessory can really only hurt you when it come to juding. You DO NOT get any extra points for an item like the fire extinguisher. If the unit is in bad condition and has not been fully resoted then it is possible item that can take point away from your car.

A car that is a plain jane has a better chance then a car that has all of the bell and whistles with factory options. If the fit is not perfect on the option then it husts you presentation. Even AACA jusding school tells everyone not to have the options.

I have judged at AACA events and the less thats on the car the better.

I would not give more than 20 bucks for it as that is all it is worth in my opinion. if you must have it and you have the $$ then go for it, but that is a lot for a trinket to impress the guys at the local cruise in!

You wouldn't even pay,-- say $30.00 for my NOS MoPar fire extinguiser with the bracket and the original MoPar box it comes in?
The one on ebay is just a used poorly waxed up one. It's got to be worth 2-$300.00 on ebay- easy. These stamped MoPar units are different than most all the others you see on Flea Bay.
Guess I'll wait another 10 years and see if it might draw more interest then! I thought they were a rare highly prized item.

Sure i'd give you 30 bucks then toss it on the bay and let it go to the highest bidder!:D Really they don't interest me at all.

That extinguisher would be (for me) just like a lot of other what-nots

I've bought to go with the car. Lay it in the trunk at a show....some

of the general public will notice it.....some older guys may even have a

story about "one of those" from back when. I doubt anyone would be

impressed $2500 worth.

One of my trunk displays that always seems to get comments is this

group of stuff for a picnic.

Probably all of it only cost $25 or $30 ...maybe.

Hey Bob, you want a vintage can of PAM. I restued a bunch of stuff from my folks house when we sold it. Their metal Hamper is the same style and size as your metal one but with a wood grain finish. Inside was a spray can of PAM nonstick food release. Probably from the late 50's.

There was also a set like your plaid one but i was really deteriorated.

Thanks for the offer, Greg.

But, I guess I'll pass since I've got so much "valuable stuff" now that I

don't have occasion to use it. Have a box full of old auto related items

plus a couple shelves full in the garage. I try to use different stuff for

trunk displays at shows, but don't seem to have time to get to many of

the events that go on around here all summer.

It seems that we are either going somewhere or I have a music job on

a Friday or Saturday night. Think we only got to two, maybe three

cruise-ins last year, only one show.

Nothing like stating the obvious is there?

(Assuming the machine works)

Now I'll go stand in the corner for a few posts.
