John Mulders Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I wanted to say, "If you like it so much, doc, why don't you stick it up your own butt?" Joe, my advice : don't be funny or start an argument while you are at the mercy of the other person ! John Quote

William Davey Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Earlier in this thread I mentioned that my truck (C-3-B8) was a little OT, but now that we're talking colonoscopies I can contribute! Few years back I had to have an "exam" up in the rear private area. The Dr. explained that this was a short visit, only going to the "first turn" (his words). I dropped my jeans and laid on the table watching the scope as it traveled along - kinda facinating to look at the inside of your own body! After a few minutes, the Dr said "so I see you're a hunter"!! I'm looking at the screen too and ask him "why did you say that doc, did you find a beech nut?" The Dr replied "No, it says Cabella's on the back of your sneakers"!! I swear it's a true story. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 And then you had to explain to the doctor what a beech nut might have been doing up there. Bob, I'm glad to hear you came out of it OK. I guess you'll spend a lot of time now trying not to go stir crazy. After one surgery I had, I sat at home and watched daytime TV, so you know I was in a bad, bad way. Quote
Troganin Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Sorry about the lurking. Please don't get a restraining order. I've been in hibernation over the winter as the garage isn't heated. I will be collecting parts and information on getting my windows back in with all the proper seals. Hopefully I'll get pictures in process to share. Thanks for all the great information, and some good chuckles from OT. Quote
Black Widow Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I too am quilty of lurking a whole lot more than posting, because I don't know much as far as technical stuff. I am pretty sure I have found the answer to almost every issue I've had with my Plymouth here though. And have gotten some great help from the forum. Like others have said, I haven't done much with the car over the winter. I am looking forward to spring and getting out to more events with it. Thank you for the oppurtunity to participate in this fantastic board. I will try to take part more often. Quote
Greenbomb Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Inuendo- isn't that Italian for suppository? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) As a poster amoung the higher numbers, dropping the number of post ratings will never be a cure- all for any thread where people may share a "different" view..some folks are bit more sensitive to criticism be it good or bad or not even written in a critical manner, just read that way by themselves..I do not think that a person who was asked a question, received excellent advice was ever flailed upon by any member, but I do recall a number of times when they got advice and asked the exact same question next day get a bit of a "stark" reply next time around. If someone has a direction already planned in which they wish to do their car..go for it..post away..publish your pictures, never a problem..but for sure, if you ask a question as to how, what if and do you like the looks...you going to get a bunch of opinions and you should be prepared for anything. As most folks on here that have been doing this for any given amount of time they have their own ways, methods and products they are confortable with..most will share, I do..whether you choose to use these, copy an idea..thats totally your call...as I have said in the past..the method/product I use is just one way..there are many ways to do any given job. oldbadboy Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 I was on this form a few years under another name. Am in my late 60s and have had Mopars all my life and done all my own work whatever it was. There is a great bunch of guys and gals on this form. I can name three differant times when I posted answers to someones questions and was told by older form members (who think they know it all) that I did not know what I was talking about even though I had done things this way and it had worked great for me. If you do not want to try my idea thats ok but do not come on and say it will not work if you have not tryed it. I also saw a lot of bashing of newcomers who I thought ask a lot of dumb questions but they were not dumb to them so eather answer there questions or move on. Everyone knows you you should have manuals but not everyone can afford them. Thats one of the reasons we are here along with getting to know some great people. I have only met one member on this form (who lives close to me and I have not seen him post lately) but feel as though I know a lot of you great fokes. I could go on and on but I think you get the drift of what Iam saying and am sure just a few of you will say bull to what I have said but thats ok because Iam now going back to my lurking JUST FOR YOU. chopt50wgn Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 I have found this site to be very informative for stock older Mopars. I am into the street rod stuff , customizing and using v-8 power. The whole thing about cars is that whatever you like, it is what you like and no one can or should be critical of what you do with a car. I find that here all are welcome and treated fairly and have their questions answered. I know I have had questions on my project and have had guys here give me the answers. Quote
