Brad Lustig Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 It's a good place to keep your gloves if you have a radio in your glovebox. Quote
vanbuskirk Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 But, even accidental messing feels good. Bob Quote
greg g Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I have always wondered what type of packages folks would keep unrestrained at head height in a vehicle. I know my brother used to try use it to take naps. So how much force would a 40 pound kid exert on the back of the heads of front seat passengers if a car came to a sudden unplaned stop from 45 or 50 mph?????? I know the only thing I store on mine is my straw hat, a valise full of car show paperwork and, oh yea and a silly looking stuffed duck. Quote
Brad Lustig Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Mythbusters did a test of things flying off the package shelf and hitting the driver. They were really testing the myth about a box of tissues becoming a deadly projectile in an accident (they weren't), but they got some other good tests in. Quote
Normspeed Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Bob, the package tray is the area behind the doorposts in this pic. Not a good place to store your loose bowling ball. Quote
David Maxwell Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 This woman seems to have just come from a shopping trip and has about four packages on the package shelf to prove it. Oh, and I saw that Myth Busters too. It was BUSTED! Quote
randroid Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 ... and all this time I thought a package tray was a jock strap for an egomaniac. -Randy Quote
Normspeed Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Randy, I think that's a display case. Quote
