47heaven Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I don't get that. I love sharing knowledge. If someone asks a question I'll be happy to answer it if I can. Sometimes people don't like what they hear or care to take good advice but my opinions are based on experience, not wikiworld data. I'm just trying to help. And hey, if I don't know something, guess what, I ask a question myself....... Unfortunately, Johnny, there have been a couple or so on here that don't feel the way you do. They find it an inconvenience if someone asks a question that has already been asked. I, myself, have been chewed out by a couple members for asking a question about something that had already been posted or because I didn't "get" something because it was explained to me in technical, not layman's, terms. I'm very grateful to those, like you, that don't seem to have a problem with helping someone out with a question or problem.
Joe Flanagan Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 For those of you who tend to see things in terms of black and white, this may be difficult to grasp, but there is enough blame to go around on this. GTK did exactly what he should have done. In fact, he should have done it months ago. The only "tragedy" here is that Normspeed no longer posts on this forum and I have been tempted many times to follow suit.

Too bad wonder how many potential new members with or without valuable knowledge may have shyed away. I really hope Normspeed returns, maybe a thread should be started to invite him and any other estranged members to return. And I hope you don't exit Joe, enjoy your posts and threads.....
blueskies Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 ...They find it an inconvenience if someone asks a question that has already been asked.... I have no problem answering the same questions over and over again. Everything I have done with my car is very well documented here and on my website, yet I get email three or four times a week asking the same stuff. Because my car is all but finished, I don't have many of my own questions anymore, and if I didn't answer questions here I wouldn't have any reason to post anymore. I enjoy the commeraderie and community of this forum so if I have to answer an overdrive question for the hundredth time, no problem. It is the only way to share in the "brotherhood" that this forum offers, IMHO. Pete

I hope he comes back too.
Rodney Bullock Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Hey guy's this is suppoed to be a cooling off period. I know everyone has an opinion about what happened. I think now it's time to contemplate on the things that got our friends in trouble. I think now we should get out those Milli Vinilli records out and spend some time cooling out:D We can just "Blame it on the rain" for now. Yeah, I know childish is't it. I think they should get their awards back. Nobody sings on the records anymore now.
Joe Flanagan Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Rodney, I have never heard anyone evern REFER to Milli Vanilli in years. Thanks for the memories. One of the cheesiest non-acts ever to hit the airwaves. You've got me laughing to myself now. Only you could have come up with something like that.
dezeldoc Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Sorry to say it but GTK needs help and for some reason he does not want any. if there were more mods this kind of stuff would have never gotten this far out of hand.

It is the only way to share in the "brotherhood" that this forum offers, IMHO.Pete I'm sure I've asked some questions that have been answered before. I have a moderate level of general knowledge and ability, i.e. "enough to make me dangerous". This is my first (and second) old Mopar so I had alot to learn. Everyone here that I asked questions of were very helpful. Don, Pete, Norm and Young Ed have all helped me along with many others. As I have learned a few things, I try to share in the same way others have. I have alot to learn and I'm sure Pete's email will see a couple more questions from me about his Carter- Weber setup as that is my next project. For me, I only trust my self so far, so I ask questions to "make sure"I'm looking at things the right way. I think things got abit out of hand with the troll and some who had answered his questions many times couldn't understand why he wouldn't take the advice. Some come looking for an answer. Others come looking for an answer that they think they already know and when the answer they receive is different, they re-ask waiting to hear what they want to hear. Kinda like putting your hand on a hot stove not thinking you'll get burned because you "know" you won't get burned. All this might not make much sense but I hope things will settle down and that Don and Normspeed come back. I have appreciated all the help. my .02
greg g Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Rodney, this would relax us HOW???? makes me nervous, very very nervous
Niel Hoback Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I don't know what those two guys are doing, and I really don't want to.
Joe Flanagan Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 So, Greg, it's not bad enough that Rodney has to dredge Milli Vanilli out of the pop cesspool. You have to go and post pictures of them. Thank you for that. I'm with Niel. Don't have any idea and don't want one.

Kind of like the employee that asked me if we had to work New Year's Eve. I informed him that, yes, we did. He then asked some one else who also informed him that we worked New Year's Eve, and then asked an other who gave him the same answer, and an other, ... Will the answer change to one's liking simply by one's frequent asking? The logic escapes me!

_shel_ny Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 I'm sticking with the "ignore option". Would have worked for both parties. If you don't like MY answer, ignore me:D:D:D
Joe Flanagan Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 I won't defend Warshaw. Frankly, I hope we never hear from him again for reasons that are obvious and have been well enumerated here. The best advice was RobertKB's, who said ignore him, advice which was, itself, ignored. I personally had no problem with about ninety percent of the responses people gave Warshaw. The rest of it crossed the line. It doesn't take a big man to make a monkey out of someone like him. He does a fine job on his own. Warshaw is too easy a target. I, for one, refuse to drink the Kool-Aid.
greg g Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Even if it's by this guy now I'll go to the corner................................................
_shel_ny Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Even if it's by this guy [ now I'll go to the corner................................................ one more image like that today and you will go furthur than your corner:D:D
JoelOkie Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 I enjoyed this forum for several years before I ever joined. While I still don't post a lot, I am glad I finally became a member, and can throw a little out in the mix, time to time. I also offered some advice/suggestions to this particular person a couple of times, and kind of figured out he often either didn't bother to read it, and/or often didn't feel obligated to offer a thanks/no thanks to someone taking the time to answer. To me, I honestly didn't care if he took the advice offered from me, or anyone else, or what he utimately does with his car, so it wasn't anything that bothered me one way or the other. It's not that I am indifferent, just I have too many things of my own going on to worry too much about him and what he is doing. A lot of times it just seemed like he was trying to see how long he could keep the thread going. Most of the guys on here are decent guys that don't hesitate to help out when they can. New members are given a warm welcome, and plenty of good help and advice, whether they accept and make good use of being totally up to them. Seems like most of the guys have more in common than just the cars, and are mostly fair minded, and have generally good senses of humour, but even at that, I think you are always going to have a few personality clashes that get to the edgy point from time to time, and that is ok too, as long as it doesn't become ugly, or vindictive. I was raised with seven brothers, and know all too well that that even guys that like each other are going to see things different, and argue from time to time. But the webmaster really shouldn't be expected to have to babysit, and use his time to keep the peace, as I am sure he has much better things to do. Joel
Joe Flanagan Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 ESPECIALLY if the Kool Aid was mixed by that guy. Holy crap, Greg, where do you find this stuff? That is truly a disturbing image. You got it, Joel.
greg g Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Behold the wonders of googling the simple phrase Kool aid. Sorry!!! couldn't help myself. I had my eyes closed when I copied and pasted it........................
dezeldoc Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 This thread needs to go byby also, it is just everyone complaining again about the same ol things as on the other post. we get it, nobody likes him, he did not heed the advise given, kept asking repetitive questions and came off as a rich spoiled kid. let it die and lets move on.
