greg g Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I know a few of us on the board have had opportunities to travel to some event or activity where several forum members have gotten together. POC shows, The Tulsa Fury Exhumation, tours in the upper mid west, ad in Califoria where folks can go to meet people we are familiar with though this forum. At the show in MD, Mark and I talked about trying to come up with some places or events where those interesed could get to within a reasonable driving distance, where ther would be an attraction of mutual interest, car show, swap meet, Historic area to investigate, Scenic splendor. So I wanted to start a list of places that the group though might be a possibility. So here are 4 from me. Spring AACA show in Rhinbeck NY Usually the first weekend in MAY Newport Hill Climb in New Port Indiana, End of Sept The Hershey AACA fall meet Second weekend of OCT. The York and Gettysburg area of PA, for the Harley Davidson factory tour and the Historic places of Gettysburg. I for one would be willing to travel 500 miles or so to a location. Maybe try to plan one east one west and one central with a years notice to give folks a chance to get road worthy. Quote
1949P17BC Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I am In. 500 Miles puts me in Western PA on the East Tulsa to the SW, Atlant to the SE and Mnpls to NW. I am really considering driving to Portland next June, Keep you posted on the progress Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 How about the antique race car show in Charlotte that was mentioned on a recent thread. ACD museum in Auburn, Indiana along with the annual ACD festival is always good to attend. There is a huge car show annually in Gatlinberg, Tennessee. Frog Follies in Evansville, Indiana. Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Just to name a few. Quote

The frog's is relatively cheap to get in $15 pre-entry for all 3 days, food is cheap as well. $1 for a large soda, $1 for a hot dog, etc. It's also a neat show. Haven't been to the Hot Rod reunion, but have seen pics and it looks really neat as well. Quote
Captain Neon Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 Nothing to add, but I think this is a good idea. Quote

dezeldoc Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 WOW, just got back and what a show! Winfield, Watson,Barris,Iskandarian, Foose, Roth, Hines, just to name a few! their was more talent in that 2 acres than one could even imagine. of course i did not check the batteries in the camera before i left and sure enough they were dead! i can't believe how much bigger and better it was than last year. it is hard to think of the years these guys have been at their crafts and are still doing it to this day! Bill Hines is 87 and still works 7 days a week! people were there from as far away as Japan, Australia, Europe. i will have to put a link up when a couple of guys on the other sites post up some pics. if anyone gets a chance next year this is a once in a lifetime deal, as sorry to say so many are passing on that it won't be long before they are gone along with a lot of history. Dennis Hemingway Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I noticed some cars going down Hwy 58 toward Mojave this morning. I was wondering where they were going. I'm setting here watching stuco dry as the contractor showed up this morning to start repair work on the house. Dennis:eek: Quote
