Oldguy48
I kinda stumbled across this, and thought it might be of interest to some here. No, it's not a Mopar, but take a close look, and you'll see features and styling that resembles a wide variety of American cars of yesteryear. And some features I've never seen on anything else before. Hope you find it interesting.
Niel Hoback
Yeah, it kinda looks like Harley Earl's Buick "Y-Job"
Frank Elder
Holden is the Austrailan version of Chevy isn't it?
greg g
Or the renewed Y job that buick came out with 4 or 5 years ago. Holden is was GM's counter part down under. Current Pontiac GTO is a Holden..
Andydodge
Yep, Holden is Oz's Chev, the FJ was the updated version of the Holden car that was introduced in 1948, the 1948 model had a vertical grille but basically the same car till 1953 when the FJ series was introduced, the original Holden design was ex US Chev with some Opel influences.....the Efigy custom is a nice update.......andyd
Cpt.Fred
the original body is based on the opel kapitän (love that name:D) and it's a beauty! holden as well as opel. i guess it's one like this: http://www.autobild.de/ir_img/59987046_49f6630eb2.jpg or at least closely:rolleyes: there is a holden in germany, seen it once. very nice car and very exotic around here! Plymouthy Adams
I remember when in Germany that one of the larger Opels (successor to the Kapitan', probably a Diplomat) had the 283 Chevy V8 installed..friend drove one...being the smaller car it was well overpowered.. Manuel in Oz
Opel and Holden used Chev V8's. Holden still does. They were sold as Pontiac G8's and Firebird/GTO's in the US. Are there any new Pontiacs left that are for sale still? They would be a damn good buy. As they are quite a good car. I think they wanted to sell the ute over there as well. Cheers Manuel in Oz
Normspeed
The Holden Efigy was a beautiful job, nothing out of place. Too bad the Holden GTO was not real popular in the states. I think GTO purists were looking for something that looked more like the originals. I hear the Holdens performed real well.
Plymouthy Adams
performance was never the question..longivity is the problem..most all GTO owners I have seen are on their second or third engine..the engines are just not up to par..there is more to 0-60MPH than meets the eye..getting home after the run is important also
BobT-47P15
Kinda reminds you of this Buick Blackhawk concept car.
