1940plymouth Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 A Thunderbird? (Newer Model) not the first models Quote
randroid Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Gents, Don's correct in that's unmistakeably a '57 Chevy front end, and the fins look like they're from the same car. It's a TR-57. -Randy Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 I have to refer to it as WHY-ZIT Quote
my48soto Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Looks like a Mazda Miata I will have to agree it is most definately a mazda miata Quote
GeorgeLeonard Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Theres a guy in NJ who builds kits to convert your Camaro to look like this. Ill try to find his website. Quote
GeorgeLeonard Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 For anyone interested, this is the website. Theyre kinda weird but also kinda cool in a weird sort of way. Why not? If it quenches your thirst for a 57 Chevy, its a lot cheaper and it will run rings around the original. It uses the 1993-2002 body style. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Speaking of customized... This one is a mix of '53 Plymouth and '97 Dakota with a bit of other stuff thrown in. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 Aero is right.... it's a Mazda Miata. I've known the guy that built it for many years. Every now and then he gets a bright idea about building something sorta strange. He may still have his 47 Hudson convertible on some type truck frame. Another guy told me the builder is going to do one more just about like it before long. Actually, his body work seemed pretty good. Quote
hkestes41 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 "What-Zit" Ugly! I think I would rather have that 49 with the gull wing doors than a Miata wearing a 57 Chevy costume. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Got to admire the work but wonder why? To each his own. I like it better than the '53 Plymouth monstrosity. I have a '53 Plymouth and think the builder removed the best elements of the '53. Actually, not much there from a '53. Just enough to be recognizable. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Can you tell what this car started as???? It's done in the same idea as that Plym "wagon" above. It's a 50s car. [url="http://"] [url="http://"] Quote
greg g Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Looks like somebody backed a Studebaker into a Mercury after they mistakenly put Mercedes Benz Front fenders on it. Quote
