greg g Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Apparently the new format has features similar to my face, spacebook, and other social networking sites. Before I allow these social pariahs, (you know who you are) to attach themselves to my members profile page, what are the supposid benefits of "friends" other than having a list of these outcasts attached if and when someone views my page. I mean I already talk to them through the forum what more could they want? OK so I'm not giving out warm fuzzies here but whats the deal? Additionally why these folks would want to pal around with me makes me wonder about their character judgment abilities. No offense to those who have applied. My therapist thinks I may have commitment issues. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 faster and easier to send to multiple members on a PM.. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Greg; I just checked your profile and I understand why you have these bad feelings. It clearly states that "greg g has not made any friends yet". I think you are in need of a man hug:rolleyes: Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Greg, I see no real benefit to that either. Like you said, we all talk to each other on the forum anyway, and once in awhile through a PM. You can still send a PM to someone, without them being on your friends list. It's just something else to burn time. Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 One of the Marx brothers said " I don't want to join a cub that would have a member like me " Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 that was the basic explaination I gave when asked at work if I was interested in being a supervisor... Quote
greg g Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Hey Don, I don't have any difficulty making friends, it's in the retention where I become selective.......But if like Tim mentions, I can irritate multiple people with one push of a button, there moght be something to this. What I wanna see is howmany folks have me on their ignore list. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 that is why it is an ignore list...but as I answered this..you are not on mine...lol I choose not to use the ignore feature...take some of the laughter out of my life if I was to do this... Quote

Tim and Greg and Norm; If I put any of you on an ignore list there would not be any new postings:eek: Quote

claybill Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 i cannot find any reason or advantage to this 'ignore' or 'friends' etc listing on this and other forums too. to ignore...well is an item for item thing. A-A-A-A-H ! none of it makes sense to me. It is just unnecessary and impolite. while developing features on a websight you can make so many ways of engagement to show the extent and diversity of the sight, just for the sake of showing the extent and diversity of the sight..whether you need it or not. knuckleharley Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 Additionally why these folks would want to pal around with me makes me wonder about their character judgment abilities. I dunno. Do you have free whiskey? If so,and I go off the wagon again,I will be your friend. At least until the whiskey runs out or the cops show up. Whichever happens first. Quote
