I do not care what the terms are, I like old cars / trucks over tractors because of the individuality and creativity. I enjoyed every rat rod picture just for the sheer pleasure of seeing what someone spent his time on. Keep the pictures coming.

Plenty of good examples here and always a good time if you're ever in the area that time of year and they raised $25,000 for charity...

Here's one for you... Bob (rearview) can fill you in on the details of it. It is parked right in front if his Dodge at the World of Wheels show this weekend. As he explained to me, it's mostly non-functional.

Uggh... Bills creation. Everybody has their own style and vision of what their car should be... an extension of their personality. He is a truck driver, wanted to incorporate the big-rig thing with rat / traditional elements. It is truly one of a kind.... not my style, but each to their own I guess. At this early stage, it was mostly non-functional... but the ideas and parts are there to make it whatever he wants. BTW... it won 2 awards at WOW... in the "traditional" class. IMO... my car is a traditional style.. traditional cruiser, not stock or a custom... but the judging committe doesn't seem to think that.

Merle: any more pics from the show... of my car?? I got only one!!!

Bob, here are the couple that I took of your car.

And I knew that this was just for fun, but I had to get a shot of it anyway.

Other pics from the show at http://s66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/mac2026/World%20of%20Wheels%2009/

I mostly took pics of the Mopars that I liked, but there were MANY nice cars. Most of them you can tell never see the street anymore. What a shame.

all the other cars in the display we chopped and heavy customs. Mine was in the "before" state and was dressed up like it was in the first step...

Attached pic of Frankenstein.. you'll understand whati mean by heavy custom. Can ANYBODY ID the original car? Good luck... very hard.... impossible actually...

Looks to me like a 51 Chevy.

On second look, it could be an Olds judging by the grille and bumper.

Here's a 50 Olds two door fastback sedan.

Added later.......here's a 56 Olds.......yep, those are the headlights.

What color of blue did you use. That is very nice.

Honestly... I have no idea what color blue that is... It was painted mid-80's... that color was there when I got it. Had it matched for painting the visor and cowl vent, and color wasn't an exact match to anything in the computer.

I would trade my P-15 for this oldsmobiblebibelible in a heartbeat. I really like this car.

Must have used the 56 Olds trim on the hood and upper edge of the

grille opening. Grille bar and bumper look to be 50 model.

I added a pic of a 56 Olds to my previous post.

About rat rods, I kind of chuckle that these guys sort of come off as rebels, but are really conformists down deep inside. ...and those tractor grilles...Please make them stop! Enough already! The first one was neat, but these folks are like lemmings!

This from the man that's buying up every available tractor grille in Luna County, New Mexico?? Of course the grilles come with a complimentary tractor attached.

You need to get out there with your roller and gallon of latex house paint and put some wide whites on the tractor. Could start a new trend.... you could go down in rat tractor history... Modern day Barris in the tractor community.

Norm,

Rearview is right. Just take some white wall paint and paint those tires white.:D If you look at the chassis in the picture, that's what I did just for kicks before I took it apart. It must have sat on that hill like that for about 3 years before I finally took it apart. And, the white paint was still there.:D

A little white paint on the tractor tires will give it a little "Class".:D
