Allan Faust Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Yep, I definitely enjoy the change from -20C in Canada to +20C down here in Texas..... Saw Houston (enough to cross town from one airport to the other) and now in Beaumont..... Really interesting seeing new places and faces.... Allan Quote
55 Fargo Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Not sure you would like the Texas heat in summer, not sure I could handle the long hot summers those folks get, but heck I would sure have fun trying to get used to it. Hope all is well with you Allan, enjoy yor time in Texas, before you know you will be back in frozen Capital Ottawa.........Fred Quote
JerseyHarold Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Lots of rust-free iron down that way. If you drool, please be polite and wipe it up! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Allan, Sounds like you are enjoying the warm Texas air. But.........it's like the people that live here, and go to someplace warm for a vacation during winter for a week or two. I don't like doing that for one reason. Would rather stay home in the cold. Why? After the week or two I'd have to face reality and have that cold air hit me again when I got home. Then get use to it all over. Quote
RobertKB Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Allan, when it Texas do as the Texans do......drink Lone Star beer. Quote

Well, I had me a ??bach?? tonight(local beer, cant remember the name) and I also ate lunch at the west texas style Bar - B - Que.... you know one of the establishments with paper towels on the tables.... excellent ribs, great atmosphere... I loved it... I have to agree with you and Tim about the establishments with the paper towels.... they are things to look out for.... Allan Quote
anthonyb Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Hopefully, it was a Shiner Bock. Real Texas beer brewed in Shiner, Texas by imported German brewmasters for several generations. Paper towels on the table is the only way to eat real barbeque. Although there are some yankees around here that will argue that point. Quote
