Yep, I definitely enjoy the change from -20C in Canada to +20C down here in Texas.....

Saw Houston (enough to cross town from one airport to the other) and now in Beaumont.....

Really interesting seeing new places and faces....

Not sure you would like the Texas heat in summer, not sure I could handle the long hot summers those folks get, but heck I would sure have fun trying to get used to it.

Hope all is well with you Allan, enjoy yor time in Texas, before you know you will be back in frozen Capital Ottawa.........Fred

Allan,

Sounds like you are enjoying the warm Texas air. But.........it's like the people that live here, and go to someplace warm for a vacation during winter for a week or two.

I don't like doing that for one reason. Would rather stay home in the cold. Why? After the week or two I'd have to face reality and have that cold air hit me again when I got home. Then get use to it all over.

There is one other difference between me and them....I'm down here for free... ya, ok, I'm working, but the travelling, the food and everything is paid for...... ya gotta see the advantages....

A Miller LITE and you are in Texas:D Unless you start talking Fahrenheit and drinking real beer you might end up in a Texas jail.

Well, I had me a ??bach?? tonight(local beer, cant remember the name) and I also ate lunch at the west texas style Bar - B - Que.... you know one of the establishments with paper towels on the tables.... excellent ribs, great atmosphere... I loved it... I have to agree with you and Tim about the establishments with the paper towels.... they are things to look out for....

Hopefully, it was a Shiner Bock. Real Texas beer brewed in Shiner, Texas by imported German brewmasters for several generations.:D

Paper towels on the table is the only way to eat real barbeque. Although there are some yankees around here that will argue that point.:P

Thats it... shiner bock..... sorry for the name.... yep some yankees argued it (witnessed it myself) however, since trying it myself, I've decided to stay on the the side of the paper towel folk..... and my stomach agrees.

I even spotted a beautiful bizzy coupe coming down the highway in the opposite direction..... couldn't quite see what year due to the highway angles and the fact I was coming off the highway in sillsbee.
