I was at a junk yard yesterday and came across a 47' Plymouth with a descent grill. In talking to the yard man he said he was trying to sell the whole car for $600, but would sell the front bright work for $300. All four fenders look to be in good shape. So it seems like it might be worth it to me to buy the whole thing. It is a Club coup and I have a Business Coup. Can someone tell me if all of the fenders are interchangeable? Thanks

Everything but the trunklid fits your car as far as exterior stuff.

At today's ebay and swap meet prices, it probably has more than $600

worth of parts available.

All the dash stuff, if any good, will interchange.

Probably the front seat as well.

Several months ago, I turned down buying a P15 fourdoor for $500 as a parts car.

Mainly because I originally understood (so I thought) that the price was $300.

I was prepared to give that, but when I went to make the buy, the actual owner said

it was $500......not the lower figure given by his nephew. After thinking about it

for a while, I decided it was probably worth the higher price......but now the guy has

died and all his old cars have disappeared. Have not gone back to the nephew to

track them down......may just be moved to some other property the guy owned.

If they will sell parts off the other one (assuming it has any good stuff), I

say get all things you can, whether you really need them right now or not.

These old Plyms have disappeared in this part of the country over the past

40 years big time......hard put to find any now. Thank goodness I got some

stuff way back when there were plenty of them sitting around. I'm going

to get a few more things from a local place that has only two P15s left.

There are a few goodies still left on them, but not much.

No. Haven't been to one at Cabool. Do they have many old cars?

That's about a two hour drive from here. You can send me a PM if

you want to.

These cars are in a wooded area at the home of a fellow I know just a bit west

of Joplin. He is not in the salvage business, but will sell parts. Sometimes it's

not easy to catch him at home.

Yard at Cabool claims to have thousands. Maybe not that many but a lot. Cars from 50s and 60s with good trim. Probably any kind of car you want. I was looking for 50 dodge parts had a few that were pretty well stripped. Lots of Plys. Had an article in old cars weekly a few years ago. I've been there a few times definately has a lot of cars. Had 5 or 6 pilot house trucks and that is rare.

I stopped in a some salvage yard in that general area not long ago on

our way to Nashville. Don't recall the name of the place. They said

they had a few older cars in a building, but wanted to sell them complete.

Did not indicate they had any older stuff out in the yard, so may not

have been the same outfit. Thought I wrote down a phone number,

but not sure where my note is now. I was asking him specifically

if he had any 46--48 Plymouths or parts......said NO.

I need a hood release cable with the handle and housing for my 48. Keep me in mind if you get the car.
