  1. Moderators this bit should be pinned in tech or added somewhere....

  5. Scuba divers used spit to clear their masks in the old days when the cold water fogged the mask.....eeewww gross....I think I would try some of this first...lol.
  6. Sounds like fun Andy!
  7. Dang Andy.... I've run about 7 or 8 440s in my lifetime so far and none of them needed more than a 650 cfm to run smoothly and powerfully .........I would have said off the top of my head that a 600 would drown one of these little engines.......
  8. So, you are so rooted in your be-leafs that there wood be no stumping for this man's business? How will he ever be able to spread out to open other branches if you don't rake in some customers? I think your bark is worse than your bite you old weeping willow! I'll go sit in Andy's corner now.....lol. I'm nothing but deadwood in this forest....ouch
  9. Thank you @Matt Wilson I would like to ask you one more machine shop question if I may, Have you ever heard of anyone truing up any of the other mating surfaces on a L6 block to make sure the fit is perfect for say fuel pump, thermostat housing, water pump, or intake/exhaust flanges?
  10. It does not have time to pool in the intake........it gets sucked greedily into the center port.
  11. Looks like an aircraft tug or munnitions mover to me.
  12. Sooo..... would a 218 25 inch head on a 265 raise the compression or are all the heads the same ?
  13. Lets make this even simpler......single carb spaced over the center port feeds that port rich, the the 2 pistons in the middle receiving the lions share of the fuel. The 2 outer ports are lean and do not run as well as the center port due to lack of fuel. It runs well but not efficiently, nor has it reached its potential in horsepower. However by placing 2 carbs of the same size as the stock carb between ports all ports get fed the same amount of fuel thus improving both horsepower and mileage.....as if it was being fed by one carb efficiently. Headers or some form of split manifolds are needed to to round out the package so the engine may breathe at its best. I never change the cam because I am not a rumpity rappity raspy guy.....I like quiet cars.
  14. I'm guessing you mean Heat Riser ?
  15. You are fine, post away!
  16. The first time I have ever seen a brochure shot of the D-25.......

  17. 354 and 392 are the same size block.
  18. 251 and 265 blocks are the same, I don't know if the bore is the same but the crank and rods from a 265 will work in a 251, changing the stroke to a 265.
  19. Why do you have 2 threads on the same exact subject? Posted 5 hours apart.........
  20. Ouch.....you will have to strip that paint off to assess the damage.
  21. If you split the exhaust and don't improve the intake [ dual carbs ] all its going to do is sound pretty.
  22. Nobody is currently repops anything but floor pans, rockers, and trunk pans so your 2 choices are to repair the damage, or replace from a donor as you mentioned. Can you post pictures?
  23. Member Moparjack44 put a 392 Hemi in his 46-48 DeSoto.
