  1. Well, I turned the rotor 180 degrees and she started Motor was vibrating. The screw holding the points stripped out and allowed the points to bounce around. Done for the night.
  2. I did rewire the coil to original. I moved the motor to where the timing mark is lined up with the pointer
  3. I have moved the timing all over the place. Tha rotor is point towards the #1 cylinder at TDC. Since I'm getting fire it should do something. It's not even trying to start.
  4. I reinstalled points in my P15 after pertronix quit on me, Now she won't start and pops back through the carb. Any ideas would be appreciated. points set at .20 and firing order is right . i'm getting spark per my timing light.
  5. I tried it. I tore the original apart so I had the top and the bucket. Oreiliys had a WIX filter that fits perfectly. I think the car actually runs better.
  6. when ever I fill my tank which is rare, my gas gage does something strange. It goes up to full then back to one half until I use some of it up. Any ideas?

  8. Does the motor run any better with the paper element? I haven't seen on here if it does.
  9. I've rebuilt my b and b three times. New throttle rod bushings new choke rod bushings and I still have to run the mixture screw almost all the way in to get it to idle. I think I have a massive vacuum leak somewhere. Dammed if I can find it.
  10. My biggest complaint is a hard pull to the right. Rotating the tires didn't make a difference.

  13. When changing to 12 volts, all light bulbs need to be changed?
  14. I might add, everything electrical works. Gauges accesories lights horn heater. So i guess my wiring is ok. So i could use some of the wiring can be saved if changing to 12 volt. By the way, i have a 6 volt pos ground altenator.
  15. I've always said if and when my original motor dies then i would do the upgrade, but the damn thing just keeps running.
  16. So an early hemi (if i could even find one), it would be 6 volt already?
  17. I get what you guys are saying, but rewiring the whole car sounds like a huge undertaking. I've never been that profficent at electrical.
  18. Can a p15 be modernized with a modern engine and transmission and remain 6 volt?
  19. Could the downdraft tube be plumbed to outside the car like a tailpipe in order to get the fumes out of the engine compartment?

  21. Took the lid off and got it apart. There was no gasket under the nut. Made a gasket out of some felpro sheet material. Not leaking now
  22. Finally got my p15 running. Canister is leaking around the nut on top It's almost as if it has too much oil in it. Any ideas?

  24. Is it unusual to cross the polls on the solenoid and bump the starter without the key turned on. I thought the switch needed to be on.
